Oh I am just talking about just the last few years. Prior not even close. :D :suds:

When you look more closely at it, the Penguins are more like the Oilers and the Flyers are more like the Flames. Penguins have the Cups and the superstar players both historically and today (just like the Oil) while the Flames and Flyers were good back in the 70's (Flyers) and 80's (Flames) and have done little of note since that time (the odd Stanley Cup run).

Unlike Edmonton, I don’t think you can get a hooker in Pittsburgh for $1, at least I’ve been told

Where he can do all the drugs he wants with no repercussions.

And two teams get cleared of any cap implications. :L

Hopefully, he hasn't blown all his money...Eh, to be honest, I really don't care one way or the other.

Yeah I honestly don't care about him because this is what he wanted. He can go waste away back in Russia.
And the players' association is cool with the cap hit being cleared as it could be more money for other players.
But the NHL itself letting the teams clear of the cap hit is annoying, as the NHL is never consistent when they allow this vs when they don't.

For a mutual termination it's pretty clear that it removes the cap hit. It's very rare to see a player agree to such a mutual termination though since it's flushing money down the drain.

He's not getting his salary for this year of course, but already collected his $2mill signing bonus for this upcoming season.

That can augment his rubles.

Surprised Dallas is first.
Also that Vancouver is mid-pack (thanks Seattle?)

The replies are good. Penguins haters must not understand the concept of geography, divisions, and proximity.

Do senior citizens get more frequent flyer mile points than younger people? If so the Penguins are getting the short end of the stick here

One more year really doesn’t mean much in the scheme of things for him. Chances are he’s going to get a similar contract in Russia at this point.

Sad that his career is at this point though. He was great in Washington for a time.

EDIT: Now I just saw where the KHL team he wants to sign with doesn’t have the cap space to sign him. LOL at that one.
