He's due 7.8 million next season - Caps will have to toss in some Benning type sweeteners for anyone to take on that contract.
I’m thinking he will go unclaimed, he refuses to go to the AHL, and goes back to the motherland to play in the KHL.

Also, maybe I am just a dick, but the amount of people upset that Washington waived him after coming out of the player assistance program is mind-boggling to me.

Yes, he probably has a cocaine problem but as his employer they’ve offered him help and want to move on from him now rather than later.

He’s Russian. Can’t you just say he fell out a second story window and boom, Robidas Island him? Instant cap space and more legit than what Vegas does.

It still is crazy to me that a team gets cap relief if a player is charged with domestic/sexual abuse and is suspended by the league, but not if a player enters the player assistance program. At the end of the day, a GM of a team is trying to do what he feels is best for the fortunes of his team and sometimes that means making these types of decisions. Lest people forget, Kuznetsov's career earnings are estimated at over 54 million, here's hoping he saved some of that money and didn't do a Theo Fleury.

Speaking of teams that need a goalie, the Canes can't be all that confident with Kochetkov, right?

I really don’t know what Dubas is doing at this point. He is sitting on two good goalies with movable contracts, they have to be worth a premium right now.

Yes I know Jarry has a limited NTC and is in the first year of the deal but in terms of goalies it is on the lower side for a starter.

Makar getting banged up in Nashville. Favoring his right arm/shoulder. Still in the game though.

Preds are red hot.

For sure. I don’t think they make any moves this week. Not because the roster is stacked but there is a feeling the team deserves a chance to show what they can do. ImproviNG the team can wait til the summer

Benn went all Robert Orr last night (and the look on Pavelski’s face is pretty telling)

Brunette has to get some Coach of the Year love if they make the playoffs. Sure they have Josi, Saros and Forsberg but after that it’s 20 guys named Who, Meh and Ugh.

Add to this the drastic drop in the Devils play from last year to this year.

Hershey.

The chocolate capital of the world. There’s a Cocoa/Cocaine joke in here somewhere. I just can’t come up with it

I was on a training course in Toronto about 20 years ago or so and there was a guy there who worked for the Hershey Chocolate company in Hershey, PA. He said that in his first month of working at the company, he gained 20 lbs. lol

/Free chocolate for employees lol
//They have have an on-site gym/workout facility to compensate for free chocolate.
