The Oilers still have James Kneel on the books for this season and next season with a cap hit of $1,916,667 :D

The NHL Board of Governors are meeting in Seattle today and tomorrow and it will likely be quite underwhelming, but the Perry situation is front and center and one question that is likely to be asked is: "Okay, if Perry is saying that he's dealing with alcohol and mental health issues, why were the Hawks allowed to terminate his contract instead of putting him in the NHL substance abuse program?"

As we talk about teams that are surprisingly good, how do the Capitals have a winning record?

They have no offense, their defense is suspect at best and Kuemper can’t stop anything.

EDIT: Common theme with the Kings, Capitals and even the Penguins. Their old dinosaur star players are keeping them afloat.

Follow up: And why is the NHLPA OK with it?

Gotta think the rumour is truer than the denial and it's so bad for Bedard and his family, the NHL and the game that even Perry will lie and the NHLPA agree to it ...

How the f is inflation running rampant since the pandemic ended and the cap only goes up peanuts? And how is Bettman still the commissioner to begin with? I’m sure beer and pretzel prices have gone up more than the cap has.

No. That's too much. Now the flames can afford Lindholm.

Actually, if I'm Conroy, I'm trading Lindholm and Tanev, but maybe signing Hanifin. I say maybe because Hanifin is only 26 (turns 27 in January) and is having a very good season. Of course, if he gets a fantastic package for Hanifin, then go ahead and trade him.
