So bad, yet so good...
Saw a stat yesterday that this is the first time since the Caps came into existence that one of the Caps, Pens and Flyers are not in.Where are Maddog and Dupdawg when we really need them?
And it won't be getting any easier for either franchise to make it back soon. With teams like the Sabres, Senators, Wings and if a team in the east wins the Bedard sweepstakes (IE....BlueJackets) it could pose for a very young and strong conference for many years.Where are Maddog and Dupdawg when we really need them?
ALL ARE PENS ARE DRY BECAUSE I LOST THE CAPS SO I CAN'T MAKE ANY MORE FLYERSSaw a stat yesterday that this is the first time since the Caps came into existence that one of the Caps, Pens and Flyers are not in.
Bedard would be great, obviously, but part of the reason I want to finish last is it guarantees us Bedard, Fantilli or Carlsson. A legit franchise 1C and some luck with players not getting hurt and we can make the playoffs. Hell, if healthy we should have been in the hunt this year. And it won't be getting any easier for either franchise to make it back soon. Flyers need a complete rebuild but the Caps or Pens could be near the top of the East next season and I wouldn’t be shocked. If new management finds some cap space to go out and fuck around with it doesn’t take much to surround Sid/OV etc. with capable guys to get back there and that should be true for at least another couple years. And it won't be getting any easier for either franchise to make it back soon. In terms of the Penguins I am not too sure. If they don't fix the GM issues it will be status quo.Flyers need a complete rebuild but the Caps or Pens could be near the top of the East next season and I wouldn’t be shocked. And as much as those other teams have some promising players their rosters still have a shit ton of holes that aren’t easy to plug, especially from the blue line on backward.
Figured it went without saying that the Pens would have to move on from Burke and Hex lolIn terms of the Penguins I am not too sure. If they don't fix the GM issues it will be status quo.
They proved this year with a healthy and relatively successful Crosby and Malkin they couldn't win with just them two.
As for the issues with those other teams with the blue line back, the Penguins are just as bad off and even worse with Letang/Petry taking over $12 million of cap space. Jarry is a FA and if they sign him they will need a competent backup who can play 35-40 games a season.
