If the nhl wasn’t already a joke of a league, now it’s hard core fans know just how big of a joke it’s become. This is something you can’t recover from. This is equivalent to a player murdering somebody during the course of a game.

Deciding to go with OLN/Versus instead of ESPN back in the mid 2000s was a joke of a decision as well.

There's no reason the NHL can't make something happen either before or during the 2023-24 season. If you want to go quadrennial it's the perfect time to start.

Not really the same thing, a lot of teams do pride stuff on the board etc but don’t have the players wear any gear.

Not that I buy any of the “players are afraid of Putin” stuff they’re selling but I’ve seen this a lot the last 24 hours and I don’t think it’s making the point it’s trying to make.
