Wild host the Jets in the second to last game of the season. If I’m the Wild I call up the goons and beat the shit out of Jets in that game. Hopefully the Jets need that game too so they play their starters.

Why can’t the nhl have nice things? Instead of promoting the star players let’s prop up the knuckle daggers instead.
I would be willing to loan them Olivier for that game.

Four goals allowed in 3:03 of the third period when you're desperately trying to cling to a shot at the POs. Sounds about right.

Fletch did a lot of damage. Good for him.

Wonder which direction he's gonna take. Stand behind Torts and lose half his players or side with the room and send the angry little elf packing so he can go to Vegas and destroy them next.

Can someone that understands the offsides rule explain to me how the start of the sequence that led to this goal wasn't offsides? It looks to me like the dude that receives the puck across the line is clearly waiting (or even coming back from further offsides) across the blue line when the pass from the defensive end is flipped up to him

Offside in hockey is based on whether or not the attacking team has a player fully inside the blue line before the puck crosses the line. The player receiving the pass had one foot outside the blue line when the puck crossed the line. Therefore onside.

It's not like soccer where you cannot precede the furthest back defending player. You just can't enter the zone before the puck regardless of where the defenders are.

Guess I didn't slow it down.... looked to me like every part of him was clearly across well before the pass and when he received... feel like I've seen much less-egregious both reviewed and over-turned

League consistency is a whole other can of worms.

Impressive run for Philly but it’s gonna be tough to top his dual Parise/Suter signings for the Wild. It caused a lockout and the Wild are in cap hell because of it.
So you're saying he'll be a GM again somewhere else within 10 months.

I attended the Preds Kings game tonight and let me tell you the highlight was Kopitar’s dog doing the ceremonial puck drop. That game rivaled some trap era snooze feats. It may have been one of the worst games I’ve ever seen. And I went to a lot of Lemaire era Wild games that ended 0-0 or 1-0.

Please tell me this isn’t indicative of the NHL these days.
