I think Sid and OV have the same number of career points or something like that but the edge goes to OV as he had that plug Tim Wilson on his line screwing things up.

Somebody should tell Dan that people with work visas (obviously that includes NHL players) are exempt. Or maybe a NHL agent should do a little bit of research before tweeting.

that was my first thought - if you work and live in Canada... pretty sure this dumb law doesn't apply to you

Also, what free agents are avoiding Canadian teams these days? Of the top 20 July 1 (or whatever) UFA's by AAV 5 signed for Canadian teams, only 2 of whom were Canadian and only 1 who was signing for his "hometown team". And if Gaudreau wasn't dead set on playing as close to South Jersey as he could that number would've been higher.

He had substance issues. Wonder if the Wings are trying to terminate the contract.

We don't know that, just that he went into the Player Assistance Program. That could be for depression etc.

He was pretty awful on his conditioning stint from what I can tell though. Maybe Yzerman just wants to leave him there longer and is banking on no GM's risking whatever's going on with him. Who knows. Until someone talks it's all spec.

That's fair. I thought that I had read that it was substance abuse but that was probably some shit head blogger hunting clicks.

That is amazing. I truly think the Wings think his contract is a hinderance for a team to claim him so he can get back in game shape in the AHL?

Seriously if I was a GM on a rebuilding team with cap space I would put a claim.

Hell I want the Leafs to claim him, all they have to do is find a way to make Alex Kerfoot's contract disappear :gaah:

Sonny Milano has scored again for the Caps. Could have been a Calgary Flame this season.

When will Tage break OVs goal scoring record - before or after the next World Cup (of hockey)?
