For a second there, I thought that was a throw back to the remaining best available left in the 4th round of the 87 Entry draft.

Back in the '85-86 season, the Flames had an 11 game winless streak. They also went to the Stanley Cup Finals that year.

During the 2020-21 season, the Sabres lost 18 straight games and did not make the Stanley Cup Finals. I doubt this year will another no playoff season. Knowing the Sabres, a winning streak will be put together to just push them out of a reasonable chance at first overall pick in upcoming draft.
