The fumbles. Watching Oregon tonight, they run the ball just as much as Nebraska, but you don't see them fumbling.

I understand a Freshman has the bulk of our fumbles, BUT this is something that should be fixed in practice. I'll be honest with you, I am going to be pissed off if we have a heap of fumbles against Oklahoma State this weekend.

That's really all I have to say.

Yea the dropped passes were a shocker..........but the fumbles have been happening all damn season long. I just can't believe they couldn't get that fixed when it keeps happening over and over again. It has to be a huge emphasis throughout the week in practice.

How much science and emphasis goes into that though?? I mean is it really coaching, or just dumbass players? Sometimes I wonder.

All I know is that from the time your 8 years old, you're taught that holding on to the football is the number one goal. I think it's a mental thing.

You can only teach and tell them so much about holding on to the ball. Some teams collectively have it, some don't.

More often than not fumbling is a characteristic of a losing team... Or a team that simply does not know how to win.

This used to be a problem of Solich coached teams... Not saying it was his fault.

Coaches always talk about fumbles as "fixable"... I didn't see jack shit get fixed last saturday.. Just the same old bullshit. I lean towards blaming the players though.

I am blaming the coaches........I remember when I first started playing football and I fumbled a lot at first. I had a good coach and he taught me how to not fumble......it wasn't anything too difficult. As a coach you have to get it drilled into a player's head, and then that player has to keep it in his head when he hits the field.

It is a mental thing, no doubt. It's about not focusing on protecting the ball and instead worrying about all of the other things that inevitably leads to fumbles.

The one thing I am questioning about this staff is the discipline in big games. It bites us many games but it kills us in big games. Look at all of the games against ranked teams plus the Texas game this year and VT game in 08. That is 10 games. Nebraska has a 3-7 record, 93 penalties, and 18 turnovers. 9.3 penalties per game!!!!!

We will see what these next 2 games bring us.

Fumbling and dropped passes in these next two games will result in double digit losses for sure.

In big games I'm getting sick of all of the stumbly bumbly mistake prone bullshit. I will be surprised if this can be fixed this year.

I do agree. The penalties in the big games are ridiculous........and yes, though I love our coaching staff, that ultimately comes back to the coaching staff. A well-disciplined team is a well-coached team. This team is well-coached in many aspects, but they seem to make too many big mistakes in big games that end up killing us.

If they would've eliminated their mistakes, my prediction of 34-13 would've been the final score!

well if some of these problems dont get fixed for the next 2 games it could be a VERY FUKING ROUGH 3 weeks, im not predicting us to lose in fact i think we will blow the cowboys out today, but if the penalites and fumbles and dropped passes keep happening we will be in a dog fight!

Thing that concerns me the most about our offense is the lake of Idenity that watson has.
