Alright arm chair Kubiaks, how do you pull the win out against the steelers?

Defensively, we get aggressive. Jam receivers early and rush Big Ben hard. I probably commit to stopping the pass and take my lumps in the run game. Maybe get Harris some safety help with Brown but definitely need to watch the Talib-Bryant match up. Bryant might be able to work Talib given his size and speed.
(I know, nothing real not obvious there.)

On offense, I think we go full Kubiak. Establish a run game that keeps Big Ben on the sidelines and takes the home crowd out of it. we also need to realize the steelers D struggles against the pass. I think is a game we let Brock open up. Get more deep and intermediate plays in there. If we go conservative, game-manager style, we lose. The defense is good but is going to need the offense to step up.

For me this comes down to will Kubiak trust Brock to go out and perform like the future of our franchise? So far other than the 4th Quarter of the Patriots game they have kept it very conservative with Brock. To me this is the do or die time. Let him take some chances even if we get an early lead. I would use the pass to set up the run game. Use the 1st half to really test them deep and then over the middle with Vernon Davis (please catch those wide open passes) then once we get them to start backing off having to respect that part of the game plan then begin working them with the run game and play action.

Defensively this one could get interesting. I'm honestly thinking about allowing Chris Harris to go 1-on-1 with Brown. He shut down the rookie for Oakland this past week very well and honestly Brown and him have similar styles of play. Yes Brown is better by far and I'm sure he will get a few plays on Harris but I think we then use that extra player to apply pressure on Big Ben and help out to stop the run game. Thankfully very good chance we have both Bruton and Ward back for this game to maybe be that safety that comes up and makes some plays.

This honestly might be our toughest game of the year. Time to pull out all the stops in this one. Heck we are I think a touchdown underdog in this one. We lose it was already expected anyway so might as well take some chances and live with the mistakes if the happen and maybe steal a win if they work.

Just establish a run game........sure. We`ve been doing that with consistency all year. Would have better shot throwing on every down the way that line played last wk. Go D!! Gets some turnovers and win the game like you had to do just about every game this year!!!! Whoo hoo!.

Definitely got to jam Brown. Sherman gave the blue print on how to do that.

Alright so injury update time.

For the Steelers today Bud Dupree, Williams Gay, James Harrison, Heath Miller, Michael Mitchell, and Matt Spaeth did not practice. Gay and Harrison were non-injury related. My guess is they got a veterans day off.

Now for the Broncos

Anderson, Daniels, Davis, Mathis, McCray, Stewart and Ward all did not practice today. Kubiak did say that if they were outside Anderson would have practiced so good sign he is most likely a go for this upcoming Sunday. The others I have no clue.

Limited today were Bolden, Bruton, Caldwell, Fowler, Latimer, Manning, and Trevathan. From what I understand all those guys other than Manning are expected to be a go for this upcoming Sunday unless they have a major setback.

Everybody else on the team was a full go.

Osweiler has been named the official starter for this Sunday but Manning did return to practice today and from the sound of it looked very good.

Manning has already been ruled out for this week with Kubes saying that Oz is starting and Siemian is the backup.

Those guys are much needed and sure hope Ward and Stewart will be there to help contain Brown,Bryant and Wheaton as well. Sure hope the pass rush is up to the task because that will be huge in giving the Db`s some much needed assistance. :)

I think Stewart will for sure be back and with Bruton returning I actually like that lineup better. Bruton is the better coverage guy so I like him being teamed up with Stewart and going against their TE's. To me give Ward another week to let that ankle fully heal. No reason to rush him especially in a game that right now we are predicted to lose anyway. Throw in he will be a better fit against the Bengals who I would guess without Dalton will rely a little more on the run game.

Yeah Cd if Denver were to just find a way to come out of Pitt with a win, the chances of beating Cincy,at home and no Dalton, have improved greatly. If Denver can beat Pitt I can realistically see them at 13-3 and a decent shot at top seed with one slip up from Pats vs Jets or Miami. Losing Blount can be significant if they become one dimensional even with Edelman and Amendola.returning. Those two are not as effective when there's no run game to worry about and that makes Pats very vulnerable going forward. Unless of course " Joe Blow " comes in at rb and looks like all world again for them. ;)

Well looking more and more like Brock is the QB not only for this week but next week. Manning had a set back and wasn't able to practice today because of soreness in his injured foot. Also new info has come out that Manning has actually had this injury for 6 months now but it just got to the point recently that he could no longer handle the pain. At least this is according to his father who was interviewed this week.

I agree. If we can get a win in Pitt I like our chances the rest of the way. We shall see if the Pats will slip up. They are one of the best teams in the month of December. Even if we get the 2nd seed though I'm not going to be too worried honestly. A win for us against Pitt means Cincy all but has the division wrapped up I think even if they lose every game from here on out. Heck it could mean Pitt doesn't make the playoffs with them actually right now losing in the tie breakers to the Jets and Chiefs. Good chance the Chiefs will get the 5 seed. I don't see them losing again. Cincy then slips to the 3 seed meaning they would play the 6 seed team of either Pitt or the Jets. With Dalton out for a while I like either Pitt or the Jets to win that game and those 2 teams are no easy match up for the Patriots if they have the 1 seed. Heck neither would ours be against the Chiefs. I actually think there is a very good chance 1 of the 5 or 6 seed teams makes the AFC Championship game this year.

I know a lot of you will laugh at this ( and I wouldn't blame you ) but if the Jags were able to sneak in there they could actually surprise someone with the talent on that offense. Their scoring a lot of points lately and the D is young but improving more every game. If they did get in, I can actually see them give anyone a go at it. Ok,when you get done laughing hysterically and compose yourself, you can let me have it.:)

Oh and I'm not so sure Cincy won't lose 2 of next 3 games if Dalton isn't at Qb. AJ will change how Defenses will play Cincy and he could just end up being a nail in their coffin if he plays poorly and no Andy to finish season.

Jk, randymon. On a serious note, I was surprised when I noticed last week that they could still get into the playoffs. That's pretty amazing in itself, considering how long they have been a bottom-feeder of the NFL. Could you imagine if we ended up with the 3-seed, and Jacksonville ended up with the 6-seed?... Yikes, scary thought.

:). I still remember that game against the heavily favored Broncos that was a killer. That would be quite unbelievable if that were to actually happen, wouldn't it. There still is room out there for some crazy scenarios for sure. Of course the odds are against it but........

Yeah, this should be a great game, featuring a great offense vs. a great defense. The Immovable Object vs. The Irresistible Force. Looking forward to it myself. Unbelievable - it's not on here in San Diego. Chiefs-Ravens instead. WTF, CBS?? :lame:

I'll be at the local watering hole....

Hey, that's a Super Bowl XXIII rematch. Hopefully, it's a repeat.

Aren't you up in Redding? I'll bet there's lots of snow this year.
