Clean up the very idiotic punt fielding and they win that game by 3 touchdowns
There was no reason to field a punt in those spots. Just let it bounce and don't go near it. Dont do anything at all.

2 muffed punts is usually a loss for any team.
They got lucky a 3rd time and muffed it as well, with a lucky recovery. 2 were bad enough....

It is an easily correctable error for any ST coach who wants to get paid.
Now, if they do that same dumb thing again then it is a mistake and a problem that Herman should address.

I have 0 issues with the Smith muff. Sometimes players have a job and they have to get it done. That was one of them. Jones, just wow.. The real wow moment that nobody is talking about is the absurd onside kick team formation. Texas has 8-9 to the left and 2-3 on the right. Shocking it went to the right. Now that is on the coaches. No idea how you draw that on a board and say "Damn, we got them right where we want them. No way the kicker notices just 2 on one side. Plus he is right footed, its impossible to kick it the other side"

Herman took responsibility for it in his press conference. Herman said they drill not giving up an extra punt yardage and that he should have told Jones that with where the clock was to just let it go.

Yeah. This should be A NO BRAINER thing. It is black and white logic of how the game should be played. How is it overlooked? Like Ehlinger throwing the ball out of bounds on 4th down when losing at the end of the game.
