I think it will be a close one, Bengals 24-21.

Reasons: Jay is 3 & 0 in home openers ( 2 being blowouts ).
Bears D is better than the Bengals D ( though they boast the best DT). And Pep will be facing a 2nd string LT, their RT is also coming off an injury ( is WOOTON licking his chops?).
Cincy ranked 22nd in total O last year ( W/ healthy tackles). Yeah , I know where the Bears ranked.

I like the Bengals team. I like their D, their coaches, and what they did in the offseason to bolster their team. But it seems Dalton has some of the same ?s as Jay. I like Jays chances in this 1.

My concerns where w/ the Bengals TEs (they have 3 that can play) , dominating the middle of the field. W/D.J. starting , puts my mind at a better spot (just think he can controll the area better than any rook).
Just think the game will come down to turn-overs. And the Bears D will get a few of them. Giving a competent O short fields in which to work. Just think this O will get TDs instead FGs.

Bears 31-17 Cincy always plays us tough. But I think we have a huge edge in the fact they have zero film on us.

although I think Cinci the better team, the particular matchups in this game favor us. Cinci can't exploit the Bears likely run defense problems this year as readily, and Bears are pretty well built to slow down Green. I see a lower score game than most expect, Bears 20, Cinci 14.

I've been feeling quite homer-ish lately, and the Bears are usually good in home openers. Haven't lost one since 2005.

I've tried to convince myself that the Bengals will beat the Bears, so I don't get my hopes up, but I really think we win this one.

I'll go with 27-16, Bears win the opener.

Think not only is the starting LT out for Cincy but Dunlop to if I read the reports right. He's one of their good D lineman pass rushing types. Cincy will have to adjust, you can't put a back up against Peppers/Wooten et al, usually.

I think it changes the game. Andy put up some big numbers last year vs some pretty good D's, like Denver and Pittsburgh, but that was with one of the best pass protecting LT's in the game. He won't have that luxury today.

Bears will win... 21 - 13.

It's on CBS for me in St. Louis. If it's on any channel, it would be CBS, but obviously regional games might get in the way.

Great game. At halftime Dr. Jekyll was rearing his ugly head, but Jay and the boys settled down and did a great job in the second half.

Cincinnati is a very good team, and the Bears played them straight up. This will be a good season, my friends.

Forgot where I read it . But you said Long sucked in game 1. He actually dominated the best DT in football. He blew 1 assignment on a blitz. Jay got rid of the ball but took a hit. How is that sucking?
Atkins had 1 tackle , and on that play Long blocked him untill Forte passed both of em. Geno didn't have to do much more than reach back, and limit the gain to 3 or 4 yards.
Again how is that sucking?

Watch Bears Blitz. All Long does in his interview is talk about how poorly he played.

He got beat up quite a bit actually, if you go back and watch the game again. Jay got hurried a lot, and a lot of those hurries were because of a missed assignment by Long. We're fortunate Jay handled the pressure so well.
