Different squads so its difficult to tell. The year TCU won the Rose Bowl they were as good as anyone in the country.

Wouldn't say they are close to that level now, nor are they consistently at that level, but its still a solid OOC matchup. Definitely not on the same name recognition level as the elite blue bloods on that list like OU, UT, ND. But, since I'm living in DFW, I'm banking on the TCU home end being played at Jerry World so I'm pretty excited about that.
We'll have to agree to disagree on TCU in any year in the past. Same reasoning as has been put forth in the gazillion BSU posts about winning a single game in a year. The longer they are cellar dwellers in the BigXII the more reason to believe it is an aberration.

Meh, I'm kinda glad they're off our schedule for now because we've been adding some pretty nice OOC games going forward.

My only chance to go see those Southern Belles from Jawja in person...

:pout:
Yes, I was not happy about that one. We would have definitely been in Oregon. You can blame it on a red pair of panties!

Kinda looks like Notre Dame wanted to stick it to Michigan, thought they had more class than that.

I wouldn't call 'em elite. Although at least they play in one of the power conferences.
Everyone want a piece of Kansas too. And I am sure Purdue will be in high demand as well.

I was at the game the year before in Ohio Stadium I got my tickets through the Ohio State alumni association. It was brutal!

I can't see any reason to play a brutal OOC schedule. Running the table from a P-5 conference is more than enough to make a 4 team playoff.

Counting this years ND will have played meeeechegan 42 times & Stanford 29 times.

That is a false statement.

Notre Dame and Michigan have met 35 times.

They only played 4 times between 1899 and 1942. 4 times in 43 years?

They only played 2 times between 1943 and 1978. 2 times in 35 years?

That's 6 times in 78 years.

It has never been a true year in and year out rivalry with other breaks coming in 1983/1984, 1995/1996, and 2000/2001.

The current annual streak is only at 12 years.

Notre Dame vs Michigan 1869-2013

You Big 10/ND pimps can try all you like to persuade the ignorant masses that it is a "longtime rivalry", but that is not the case. The old "Say it loud and often enough and it becomes true" is your fraudulent mantra.

The rivalry didn't just take place on the field.

Second, Notre Dame and Michigan will meet for the 42nd time Saturday. Your source is wrong.

I think it became an ugly breakup when Michigan played the "chicken dance" or whatever after they beat ND last year. Certainly neither has been the epitome of class.

I'll trade you straight up and wouldn't even have to think about it. Play this stretch:

10/04/14 vs. LSU
10/11/14 at Mississippi State
10/25/14 vs. South Carolina
11/01/14 at Ole Miss
11/08/14 vs. Texas A&M
11/15/14 at Georgia

Then in two weeks Alabama

Gotta admit ... that is brutal and I had no prob with Auburn's SOS being at the top. That's the SEC for ya though. I'm really wondering if USC is over-hyped though. :noidea:

Like RA stated. The Michigan vs ND "rivalry" is a bit on the fabricated side.

They have played 30 some games?

I would think ND has played Stanford more.

Trust me ... it's far from fabricated. It's one of two games we always circle every year .... along with SC. True ND fans loathe Michigan and for good reason. :suds:

That's brutal no doubt. We end the season with Stanford, UNC, FSU, ASU, Louisville and USC. With our cupcake games against Navy and Northwestern. Like I said both are brutal.

I wouldn't call Navy so much a 'cupcake' game much anymore. They give teams fits every week with that triple option and they have gotten markedly better under Niamatulolo (sp?).
