There's gonna be a 2nd team in the metro Toronto area at some point down the road. I also think Quebec City will get a NHL team as construction continues on their new arena. Bettman and the owners want a 32 team NHL with 16 teams in each conference (well, what they really want is the hundreds of millions of dollars in expansion fees).

Serious question though, why do they keep talking about the second GTA team up in Markham? Seems to me like it makes more sense, population wise, to puts it around Hamilton / Missisaugua / London area. There are a TON more people there than Markham and north.

I do have to wonder how many people are really driving from Don Cherry town and dealing with those overzealous US customs jerks and bridge traffic to go see a game in Buffalo.

Kitchener or Guelph, maybe. Just seems that's where the people are. Of course, if they put an arena you could get to without getting on the Gardiner up, would anyone go to ACC anymore? Jesus what a nightmare that place is.
