This should make Marco happy!

SIGNING: QB Zach Wilson to the Dolphins — Former New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is returning to the AFC East on a one-year, $6 million deal with Miami, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Well, Fins needed someone. Not sure if Wilson is that guy, not much to choose from out there, was hoping for maybe Jones

Hello guys, I hope that you all are doing well. It's been a while since I have posted. It's not all about the negativity on this board. Although that's part of the reason. The main reason, was the way that Grier and McDaniel handled the Oline. I remember Grier laughing at a reporter who asked him about the need to fix the problem last off season. McDaniel either was indifferent about it, a yes man, or naive to think that Tua would always be healthy and able to use his quick reads and quick throws to mask the deficiency on the Oline.

Also, for a fragile QB, there was not a backup QB ready to step up in the offensive system. That proved to be a big mistake.

The addition of QB Wilson and two FA OGs has my attention. Also, the team has 10 draft picks with 3 in the top 100

  • Round 1 (13 overall)
  • Round 2 (48)
  • Round 3 (98) - compensatory pick for Robert Hunt
  • Round 4 (116)
  • Round 4 (135) - compensatory pick for Christian Wilkins
  • Round 5 (150)
  • Round 5 (155) - trade from Denver
  • Round 7 (224) - trade from Chicago
  • Round 7 (231)
  • Round 7 (253) - compensatory pick for DeShon Elliott
  • Round 7 (256) - compensatory pick for Cedrick Wilson Jr.
I will passively watch this team to see if they really are changing from a finesse team that can't compete with the Bills, Chiefs and other playoff teams. It got old seeing the team getting overpowered at the line of scrimmage when the games matter most.

Welcome back. It should get busier here after the draft. There are issues to deal with but every team in our division has them.
You have a lot of draft picks - you have not had that in awhile. Keep the faith!

Thanks Southie,

My faith is in God not in a football team. That said, it would be nice to see the local team playing better with some changes to the style of play. We'll see.

Your faith is in the proper place. Faith in a football team is just a way of being positive.

I think the big negative influence that was here is gone, I know I stopped posting when he was around, he was a thread killer.

He was nonstop negative about the QB. Tua certainly could do some things better like protecting himself better, however, Paolo never would acknowledge anything positive about Tua. That's just not being objective.

Tua is someone easy to root for IMO. He overcame a lot and kept growing as a player. Grier and McDaniel thought it was a good idea to overpay Hill rather than building quality depth on the oline for Tua and the run game.

Another thing that bothered me about McDaniel was the lack of adjustments in his game planning. He looked like a play calling champ until defenses played his speedy QBs different. Now he looks like a checkers player trying to play chess. It is surprising to me. I wouldn't have expected his offense to be like a one trick pony.

I'm not a big McDaniel fan. I don't see the offensive "Guru" that all that claim. I'm no sure what gam it was last season, think the TN game where Hill went out injured and they just couldn't move the ball. If McDaniel is that good, he should be able to adjust. How much longer does he have as head coach, 1, 2 max if he doesn't produce??

The TN game was a great example of a team with no plan B when he got injured. Better offenses have different ways to win. McDaniel could learn from KC's coach. The kept winning without Hill. They got a championship after he left. Coach Reid knows how to make adjustments. Belichick would have team his ready to adapt in game or definitely at half time. McDaniel should be on a prove it year this year.

Part of the problem is not having quality Olinemen. Grier wants us to believe that it's all McDaniel's fault. I would think Grier should have some responsibility with how the team is built and with retaining the right players. It seems like some of the better Olinemen thru the years could have accepted contracts sooner before they became FA's.
