We are fans, its OK to recognize that your team needs to rebuild. And this team does need to rebuild, it doesn't need Sam darnold or geno smith at qb its needs Sam Howell so we can get a manning.

Tanking and rebuilding are completely different things. We are rebuilding. We won't be tanking.

A 10 win team isn't rebuilding, this team is persisting in mediocrity and i see No indication they are doing anything to escape that.
A franchise qb isn't within reach this year, next year has to be the play and the only way that happens is a tank year.
Start Howell, Draft OL and pass rush and plan for 2026 to land a qb.
Or they can sign darnold and win 8 or 9 games and be in the same place again next year.

Ya you're right lets just be mediocre in perpetuity, who wants a manning anyways?
Well isnt that what they were with Geno? At least we are out from under that. Now it's time to cook. This is what makes or breaks you as a HC and GM.

Do you want us to draft GOOD OL and pass rushers?

You think we're going to improve the building blocks of a good team and then be a bottom 5 team?

Bro...

While that is technically true, they can also be mutually beneficial

No, it really can't. You can't build everything (sans QB) a competing team needs then expect to BE a bottom 5 team in the league. Bad teams are bad because they have bad players. If you want to tank for a top 5 pick you need to play bad football. That's not going to happen, nor should it.

OK. So, they are out from under Geno. Now, who are they going to acquire that upgrades them at QB over Geno next year? Darnold at $45 million? LOL. Kirk Cousins? LOL. 41-year-old washed up Aaron Rodgers? Bring Back 37-year-old 5' 8" Russell Wilson?

Why are you assuming Darnold will be $45M? If Mike and John had any notion of paying that much Geno would still be here. If Darnold signs for $35M it frees up money to improve other areas and doesn't hamstring us for the future. It's not like we'd be signing him for 5+ years.

Posters here said we weren't one Miles Garrett away from competing, so why try? Well then we're also not one QB away from competing, so allocate resources to other areas like pass rush to bolster the defense and build the team toward our coach's strength.

It might happen anyway. This team, without Geno and DK (assumming he is gone) has no offense). Smith-Njigba will get double/triple-teamed all year. Walker is too damn fragile and Charbonnet has not been tested as a primary RB over a full season. Ball control/defense isn't going to win this team, as presently constructed, too many games. If ownership doesn't chase offense in the next few months then that will pretty much tell you where their mind set is at.

Well in that case Darnold or no doesn't matter. Just don't tell me we're tanking after we use the $62+M in cap space to go upgrade the O and D lines in free agency. I also don't think it's that hard to find competent #2/3 WRs. LOL at JSN getting consistently triple teamed. That's a great way to lose football games defensively.

I don't know about the Arch Manning thing. Chances are we aren't ever going to be so bad as to pick 1st overall. Our defense will likely keep us in games if coach Mac continues to improve it the way he wants. The tank for a QB thing rarely, if ever actually works out.
Cinci didn't tank for Burrow. They just happened to end up that bad and Burrow didn't go into that season at LSU as some "can't miss" prospect. Everything just fell into place.
Manning, by all accounts is "the next one", blah, blah, blah. Who the hell actually knows how it will turn out. Trevor Lawrence was can't miss by absolutely everyone, everywhere, including these boards and Jax has done nothing with him. He's okay but not particularly special.
Caleb Williams may become that guy at some point. It's still early for sure but after his rookie year, he is behind 2-3 other guys in development.
Andrew Luck was a special player for sure but his reckless play combined with something us Seahawk fans are all too familiar with (bad Oline) essentially killed his career before he even had a chance. Let's face the fact that we got more from Russ in the 3rd rd than Indy got from Luck. And Kirk Cousins has had a solid career as a 4th rounder while RG3 didn't last. Too many variables in teams to pretend Arch Manning is for sure the answer to all our problems. Would I like to get a kid like that? Sure, but nobody knows if we even have a shot and speculating that we should go all in and tank is really kinda dumb.
I am not going to speculate on the direction of the team too much. Let's see where this goes. But I do hope that even if we have a couple of down years, they keep MacDonald on as HC and let him actually build this team the way he wants. It may be tough in the short term but the reward could be true contention and not this pipe dream year after year.

who is to say Arch Manning is even good enough to be drafted that high. Just because he is a Manning? Thats foolish and his sample size is to low even though it looks good right now. He could play like shit this coming season and why does everyone think he would go pro after the 2025 season?

continue to build that defense, get them near the top of the league and have a ball control offense with a QB that limits turnovers and doesnt take risks. Play to your strength and grind out games. Teams are not built to handle that type play anymore. Bunch of over priced deva's out there, they all wouldn't last in the 80-90's era.

I have NEVER understood the BLOW IT UP and "We need to get the #1 overall pick so we can draft a QB!" mentality. Never understood it.

"Stuck in mediocrity"... You had a new head coach turning around one of the worst defenses in the NFL and still mustered 10-7. Yah it was wins mostly against non-playoff teams, but still... give it a chance. Most Super Bowl teams were not HORRIBLE 2-14 (before 17 games) teams... they were DECENT each season, and then had some pieces fall into place. They weren't saved by drafting a bunch of top 5 picks year in and out.

they could hit on every pick and still go 3-14 with sam howell at QB.

highest likelihood you get a franchise QB

From the GM down to player 53 this is their career. Winning games is needed for everyone's career, they can't afford to tank a season because that crushes their career. For fans it's a game, for those employed it is a lot more then just a game where if you lose, so what. Their livelihood is on the line, it's about making a living, keeping your house, supporting the family, having some stability. Everyone including the GM , coaches and players want to win a championship that SHOULD be indisputable, but not at the cost of things that are more important to them, like making a living.

As a fan, if they can't win championships want them fired. I don't care about millionaires job security.
As Business people, they know mediocrity is a secure paycheck and the motivation to win championships doesn't come close for 99.9% of them (tom Brady not withstanding)
This team will be Miles closer to a championship if they collapse than they will be if they maintain the status quo.

You say tank to get the top draft pick so we can get Manning. What if we tank and get the number three overall pick and we lose all that revenue in the meantime. And we don’t get the number one pick to select Manning? Then it was all for nothing. And then say we got Manning and he’s a bust. And then we continue down that road of stinking up the joint and continue to lose fan base and revenue.

Your method is a horrible business model in my opinion

Fair enough and since you don't sign their check they don't care about your armchair theories on how to win either.
