Not at all ignorant. Pitch framing was always one of those things that makes a good team better...but that’s the extra 1-5% that puts you over the top. We need the 95% first...without that pitch framing is f*cking moot and touting it on a franchise’s highest paid player ever in a team that has done nothing in a decade was foolhardy. It is likely that by the time grandal’s pitch framing opportunity cost over a replacement catchers’ matters Grandal’s effectiveness will either be gone or waning...

I want good not theoretically good. We got clobbered defensively this weekend. Long way to go for this team.

Hate to say this, but at the moment I'm not as concerned about the Sox less-than-stellar start than I am over whether MLB will get thru the entire season. Two games have already been postponed due to the virus or virus concerns. And the season isn't even a week old yet. Not boding well my fellow diehards.

Each game is worth 2.7 regular season games - so we are going to be on a roller coaster with the Sox.

The good: We're too young and stupid to realize we're sh*tty yet after 3 games. (if we are sh*tty)

The bad: As I stated before, the youth could be a bad thing where this thing goes REAL SOUTH if we happen upon a realization of sh*ttiness early on.

The ugly: There are still some players on this team that are so horrendously bad that being in our lineup or pitching for us will kill us. You and I and any Sox fan with a set of eyes knows who they are at this point...and they showcased that sh*ttiness this weekend. Yeah, it's less than before where we only have 1-2 really bad spots on offense and/or defense compared to 3+ in prior years...but still...It's so bad that it is just gamebreaking. The phrase "you're only as good as your weakest link" comes to mind.

Central Concerns: The Cardinals are coming in 41 rental cars

The Cards are arriving in 41 rental cars - for a traveling party of 41 - to squeeze one more day of isolation out before they play. After 3 games in two days vs the White Sox - the Cards are off to 5 games in 3 days with the Cubs.

Another oddity for this MadDog 20/20 season.
