Nebraska is currently ranked 21st nationally and 4th in the B1G via 247Sports composite with 20 commits and could add as many as 8 more for the rest of the year. A big weekend is coming up... could these be some of the 8+ to finish the class? Here's who's visiting:
Ty Robinson (4-Star, DE) [Gilbert, AZ] - Robinson was considered a big Nebraska lean early in the process but a visit to USC seems to have changed things. Nebraska gets him on campus this weekend, which is huge, and Alabama gets him next week so this visit will go a long way to what's going to happen with his recruiting. Robinson has some connections to Nebraska and some family around the area as well.
Lloyd Summerall (4-Star, OLB) [Lakeland, FL] - Summerall is a freak athletically, a lot like 2018 signee Caleb Tannor. It's going to be difficult to get him out of the Florida, but Nebraska will put its best foot forward on Saturday.
Ronald Thompkins (3-Star, RB) [Loganville, GA] - The current Nebraska commit got injured early this season but Nebraska stuck with him and he has been effusive in his praise of the staff. Thompkins, a long time commit, will be visiting Lincoln for the first time on Saturday.
Dedrick Mills (3-Star, RB) JUCO [Waycross, GA] - Mills was a surprise commit a little while ago, could be seen as a potential replacement for Devine Ozigbo coming into next season.
Mosai Newsom (3-Star, DE) [Waverly, IA] - Newsom will be making an OV this weekend, the Husker commit since July will likely be working on fellow defenders (robinson) to make an impact next season.
Myles Farmer (3-Star, S) [Atlanta, GA] - Georgia is a state of interest for Nebraska in the coming years, they love the talent pool there and consider it an underrated area by recruiting services. Farmer fits that bill. The 6'3" 180lb defensive back has the versatility to play either Safety or CB.
Dru Mathis (3-Star, ILB) JUCO [Moorpark, CA] - Mathis would fill a big need in the middle of the defense and also is a good pass rusher. Nebraska wants to plug holes defensively any way they can and Mathis fits that bill. Though he likely isn't a starter he could play a key role as a primary back up and pass rush specialist if he comes to Nebraska.
That's what I got... let me know if I missed any one
