I honestly don’t have a problem with this. Obviously others here do.

Not my first choice, but come on! We could do WAY worse.

Not that I have a problem with it either......he's won a SB,and like 6 straight winning seasons in Dallas,so what's not to like??

I just never seen it coming to actually think about it.

My hopes were Ben,Vrabel and Buffalo's oc......

But I figured those guys won't be here anyways.....so all I want is whoever our headcoach is.......PLEASE DON'T SUCK!!!

Just help me out with this.

Why do you ask Dallas for permission to interview McCarthy one day before his contract expires? Dallas has a 7 day exclusive negotiation period starting after that, so anyone you want to interview of any merit in the playoffs now are not going to interview anyway.

After today, you have no need to ask permission, McFarthys agent just starts scheduling appointments on January 14th.

I just see us needing to reach a deal to hire him over the next week that will cost us draft picks.

Bears are all about the show for the fans. They're going to interview/announce that they're interviewing a TON of candidates to make it look like they are doing the right thing....

...and then after all the pomp and circumstance they'll most likely do something stupid, based on our history.

I know nothing of his contract......

But I really doubt they hire MM anyways....iI think it's just a starting point.

A quick hire like that means we didnt do our due diligence of finding the right guy......but then again,if we take our time to do that, someone will probably snag the best hc out there before we get to interview them....

Life of being a Bear fan.

The optimist in me is hoping that by bringing in so many candidates from various backgrounds and levels of expertise that perhaps the honest answers the Bears brass hears from them gives them some insight as to how they have failed as an org.

That they truly use this as a way to right the wrongs that have plagued them in recent decades.

Based on “The List”… We’re most assuredly going to fuck this up.

I guess two ways to read into that, either Jerry wants him back and will pay him what it takes, or the Cowboys are taking my approach of WTF are you asking for, he was only under contract until Tuesday, just wait until next week.

Hopefully Jerry wants him back so its one less place Ben Johnson or Joe Brady have an option to go to.

Colin Cowherd reporting Bears will interview Pete Carroll tomorrow.....

Also saying Poles says not to rule out trading for a head coach.....(interesting)

Trading for a headcoach.....??
Doesnt that usually mean mean a first and a 2nd or two firsts....??
As bad as we need olinemen, not liking that idea when there's a few more coaches out there....

Not saying i like the idea of trading for a HC. And its probably unlikely. But there are ways to improve the O-line without early draft picks. (I am not a "rookie will solve all our problems" kind of fan.)

We are $65 mill under the cap. There are over 100 O-lineman about to hit free agency.

Plus the right offensive mind as either OC or HC can call plays that hide or disguise the weaknesses on the line.

To be honest, given our track record of ineptidtude, I agree with @Payton that this somehow goes sideways.

I guess Poles wants a chance to get screwed by John Lynch too. No doubt the trade for guy is Shannahan.

I would think it would not be the end of the world for Lynch for have draft picks for a guy he is thinking about replacing anyway to steady the fanbase.

Go Penn State! Even though I’m of Irish heritage, raised Catholic and was born in the Chicago area, my Grandfather HATED Notre Dame and it rubbed off on me (He had valid reasons. ).

And my daughter played a season of soccer at one of PSU’s commonwealth campuses, which I’m still paying for. So I guess, “We are?!!!”

PSU quarterback really sh*t the bed.

Not a single PSU WR had a reception.

Ouch...That's some Bears sh*t right there.

ND has its hands full in the title, most likely against OSU.
