Honestly, I think the problem was how they rested him. They held him out of too many games. They should have taken Pop's approach of sitting out fewer games and playing fewer minutes per game.

Also, one thing that the Heat fans are right about, after last seasons finals, everyone was saying Ginobili was done. Look how he played in these latest finals. He's never going to be 2006 D-Wade again, but no reason think he can't still be very effective.
I couldn't agree more about giving him 2 much rest...i actually said it all season long. And i also agree taht he can be effective...as long as he's not relied on 2 win games or be the first - third options on offense. Honestly, i think he would be perfect for coming off the bench. But I wouldn't pay him $10-12 mil for that.

IMO, he can get a Tim Duncan type deal.

Hearing about LeBron's meeting today with Nike got me wondering... what does Nike think LeBron should do? They pay him a lot of money and I could see them having some influence on his thought process.

Was Manny Diaz calling the Brazilian defense today?

They have no say in where a free agent can go.

Sounds bout right, but not more than 2 years. But, Duncan is still playing at a higher level than Wade IMO.

Do you really think Wade is going to accept a Ginobili type role??? The Heat don't have a Leonard to insert into the starting lineup that will be the future Wade like Leonard is the future Ginobili. Wade has to be Wade circa 2006 because they have no one yet to replace him, even part-time.

Of course, they have no real say, its 100% LeBron's choice. And of course they'd take LeBron in an endorsement deal no matter where he ends up.

I'm just saying, that Nike has paid him more money than any of the NBA teams will. If they have a strong belief on a particular destination having an impact on his endorsement value (either way)... I can see that having an influence on his decision.

But if he signs for less than $10 mil a season they would have the potential 2 sign that player that could take his place.

The only way I want Lebron to stay in Miami is if he gets Melo.

how much help does LeBron need. My personal posts of lebron being carried will probably go up a few hundred pots should carmelo join heat. That's substantially more help than kobe would have if carmelo joins LA. In my opinion when healthy value of wade easily surpasses gasol. Gasol hasn't been consistent since his gf left him 3 years ago or whatever happened.
