Some of those guys (don't know if Hill was one) have said they'd come back for less. So, he may re-sign if it means a shot at playing alongside Kobe, 'Melo and Lebron.
It seems to me that there would be a reason that the only FA's from last year that have gone elsewhere are Kaman (who wasn't coming back anyway) and Meeks (who likely just got the biggest contract he'll ever get in his career).
First, we have to see if they even get one or the other or both. Then we will see who they can put around them. I'd imagine that they gave some idea as to what the rest of the roster would look like. It seems to have impressed 'Melo enough to put the Lakers solidly in the running for him.
They probably showed what it might look with both 'Melo and Lebron and also what it might look like with just one of them.
I don't doubt this was part of their pitch. I just don't see any way in hell they can pull it off.
Melo IMO will not work with Kobe......SOMEONE has to sacrifice shots, especially in the 4th quarter........Lebron is a clear fit, Melo is not, and it's not just the Lakers. I don't see him fitting in Houston either.
I'm sure Kobe is working the phones like crazy, but I still think this has 0% chance of happening that the Lakers get Melo, Lebron, and I'd give them a 50% chance to resign Pau. I just don't see how this ends well for them right now. That roster even in the west with no bench is not going to win. LA tried this already before......
