Espn twitter account NBA on ESPN is currently predicting the Eastern Conference Standings.

Right now they did the top 3 seeds and at the moment it is Cleveland 56-26, Chicago 54-28, & Toronto 47-35

Wiggy thinks that the Cavs will have the best offense since the Showtime Lakers. He forgets that those Lakers teams also were very solid defensively and their fast break was triggered mainly by steals and defensive rebounds.

The Nash/Stoudemire Suns had a better offense than the Showtime Lakers and never even made the finals because of poor defense (and a well timed Robert Horry hip check).

This is what Russ gets bashed for. He mentions all of the fastbreaks and likes to point out how Miami was a slow half-court offensive team that didn't fit to Lebron's strengths. Last season Miami wasn't a top 10 defensive team (and the main reason why they lost). In the previous 3 seasons, Miami was arguably the best defensive team (2nd to Chicago) which allowed them to go on many fastbreaks through the regular season and playoffs.

I don't agree with Toronto being in the top 3. I think that's going to be Washington and/or Miami. I personally see the Heat as a 4th seed since Miami's going to have to adapt their own offense and work on chemistry issues with Granger, McRoberts and Deng.

But I see Chicago and Cleveland finishing with those records and seedings respectively.

Defensively I don't think it was scheme either, it was age and wear and tear. Cleveland might not be good defensively but they have age on their side core wise

Wear and tear certainly impacted the Heat last season, as 4 straight Finals (where alot of the bench players were in 3 straight) is alot to go through. The point is defense wins titles. Cleveland will have a really good team next year and win alot of regular season games. You have every right to be positive. But defense is the big question mark.

Bogus because Washington got better.

1-Chicago
2-Washington

I will say this: Russ knows the in's and out's of the CBA like nobody I have met (except for the Stretch provision)....but he's a huge Cavs and Thunder homer.

But, most of his posts are solid....just too damn long, hence the love letters/sonnets comments.

Absolutely, if they can't play better defensively and get those young guys to commit at both sides of ball they aren't winning. That is just a fact.

Espn top 7 at the moment looks simliar t how I would have it. I would probably just switch Miami and Charlotte

1) Cavs 56-26
2) Bulls 54-28
3) Raptors 47-35
4) Wiz 47-35
5) Hornets 45-37
6) Heat 44-38
