Its possible that they pulled the trigger because they have some indication that he's coming.

But its also possible, IMO, that they are pulling the trigger as part of an attempt to get him to come.

There aren't many players worth making a big move to acquire before you even know if they're coming.... but LeBron definitely is one of those players.

IF LeBron goes back to Cleveland, East race is wide open. All the more reason for Carmelo to go to Bulls. Instant favorites to win EC.

Without the cap space though, how do they sign Lebron? Obviously just because they have the cap space doesn't mean he's coming, but without the cap space it's guaranteed he's not coming (excluding a S&T).

Cleveland probably feels that they have some of the key pieces in place already with Irving and their other youngsters.

True, but Cleveland would want to clear cap space whether Lebron was coming or not. Cap space is always a plus for a team that's unlikely to even make the playoffs without landing a big time player. If they didn't use it this year, they can use it next year.

This is a lose-lose for Melo:

1. Lebron goes back to Miami, Bish follows

2. Lebron goes to Cleveland, Melo can't join

Melo wants to play with Lebron, but unless Bosh commits to Houston. Melo is screwed.

So does Windhorst follow LeBron everywhere he goes or he is sticking with the Heat?

Too many sources are reporting a similar story about him going to Cleveland/LeBron recruiting players to go with him. They're making these stories up. It is coming from LeBron camp. He's gone

How is this for a possible post Lebron Heat roster....Wade, Bosh, Monroe, McRoberts, Granger, Cole and a cast of characters....possibly top 4 in the East. I predict this. If Lebron stays with Miami, Melo to Knicks. If Lebron goes to Cleveland, then Melo to the Bulls as he would eye a finals appearance.

If Beasley is here, having fun, and getting minutes....its all good to me...whether James is here or not.

I'm NOT AT ALL saying I want James to leave, but 5 years back it was also quite fun to go/watch the games and wonder if you can win vs being 'bored' if there is such a thing with a championship roster and expecting to win every night.

The Heat players after last season said the season was very rough to play, and as a fan, it was often tough to watch.

Once the playoffs came, that wasn't the case, but then watching them...we all realized the Heat basically were what they were and had no other gear to get to when then needed it vs the Spurs.

We need change either way.
That's why even though I think Bosh is the better fit, I was hoping he would leave and Anthony replace him.

I, for one, want to watch a good show, but a different one.

Windhorst watches him take a shit. He graduated HS with him and worked for the Plain Dealer in Cleveland when Lebron was there. If he doesn't know, nobody does :laugh3:

Everyone is discussing how the current Cavs roster would look with LeBron... but I really think that if LeBron goes to Cleveland... they'll quickly pull the trigger on a Wiggins for Love deal.

Unless Riley sees the writing on the wall and tells James he'll sign Anthony and let Bosh go to Houston?

Reality is, Bosh couldn't do anything about it, so he really controls nothing.

He could be recruiting Miller to Miami with Ray. We just don't know, they just think he talked to these guys.

Windhorst will definitely follow him... especially if its to Cleveland (Windhorst is also from Akron).

This I agree with.
James isn't going to play with a bunch of 'potential', and a few old guys.

Interesting comment. How about the Lakers signing Melo and Lebron and trading Gasol or whatever for love?

This is worse than the decision actually. LeBron handled that free agency perfect until the tv show. He handled this free agency as a disaster. Much bigger circus than last time. What a joke

Who'd have thought it could be worse than The Decision with Lebron never opening his mouth?:noidea:

Except.....if James signs, they can't afford Love.

Check the CBA, it restricts trades like that.
