Best College Bars In America - Business Insider

I feel like this has been talked about here before but this popped up today on my newsfeed. Really? TOTS makes the list? Look, I love all things VT and Blacksburg but if I take my prideful bias aside and be honest, I don't think any bar in the burg would make that list. I actually think the burg is pretty bland when it comes to bars but we just learn to love the ones we got.

TOTS is definitely better than Cornerstone in College Park and that made the list as well. Haven't really been to too many college bars other than The Flying Saucer down at UNC-Charlotte.

That was my reaction as well. I don't mind TOTS that much but it has to be in small doses. I would go there at the beginning of for a rail or two to get all crunked up and head somewhere else or I'd go there on a random weeknight if its not too busy. But Friday and Sat after 11? Fuck no. I refuse to pay cover for a place that's packed and offers me nothing but generic beer.

Hokie House for Wednesday comedy club, Sharkeys for pool, PKs for coin flip pizza. But the Rivermill is where you'd find me most of the time.

Rivermill for sure. Darts, pool, and good beer. Everything a man needs in a bar. Liked the cellar for the $1 draw beers downstairs and sycamore deli was always a good place for a sub and a flying dog or two after classes. Decent little venue for concerts too.

I guess you could say life happened, haha. My job went from having 8hours a day to do 2 hours worth of work to having 10hours a day to do 12-14hours worth of work. My son also hit rec league age so weve had 2baseball seasons + football and basketball to deal with.
