Look, I love Beltre and recognize his spot among the all-time Ranger greats, but I totally agree with this.

He needs to get it as healed as it's going to be, instead of just dealing with the pain and rushing back.

Foreshadow I think of things developing at 3b. We know he can't play forever. Nice to have three good replacements waiting in the wings.

The calf that he injured before the WBC was the right calf. The left one is the one that is injured right now.

Profar would be a better option. Looks like the Rangers are bound and determined to play Gallo.

It also makes the dreaded 3 headed left field platoon more crowded. Profar should've gotten most of the reps at 3rd for sure.
