Shawn Zobel:

Miami is monitoring the situation, but Cleveland is currently the front runner for Matt Flynn I've been told

Flynn would be a fool to go to Cleveland over Miami and a coach whose system he is familiar with. Of course Miami just gave away their only receiving threat.

Nice, but I would've reather had Carl Nicks for just a little bit more.

Not upset about Vjax going to TB. I'd rather go to the draft for a WR.

I don't think we could've got Nicks for a little bit more. That will probably be a monster deal.

Brad Biggs:

Bears add depth at LB and a terrific special teams player in Blake Costanzo

"When free agency started today, Raiders had a league-low $639.966 worth of salary-cap space."

So our signed CBs on the roster are Rogers, Brown, Culliver, Cox, and Brock. We probably have room for one more (a draft pick)? My fingers are crossed for Brandon Boykin.

Mine are crossed for Jayron Hosley in the 2nd (unless the Niners don't bring Ginn back, in which case Boykin would be a great return man).

Ex-49ers special-teamer Blake Costanzo agrees to a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears, reports his agent, David Canter.

I have to think Spillman is not a happy camper - it will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets vs ST - Tough loss for us, imo

great news on rogers, I was starting to get worry a bit. I wonder if/what his signing has any effect on wright and carr

I think Cortland Finnegan getting 10mil/year had something to do with it. I doubt we'd like to pay Carr or Wright anything close to that.

Hopefully we can still add another quality WR

It has to be. I don't see this FO panicking and overpaying.

Makes me wonder if all that published 'interest' in the other CB's was just to drive his price down.

Sorry to see him go. What is it about playing out west that players don't like?

Peyton Manning has Broncos among top two choices on list - The Denver Post

The four teams still alive in the Manning derby are Denver, Tennessee, Miami and Arizona. The Houston Texans backed off after they told Manning representatives they had virtually no salary cap space and needed to arrange money to have any hope of re-signing free agent Mario Williams. San Francisco is no longer in on Manning, according to an NFL source.

More like they never were in. Good way to cover your ass.

I wonder if resigning Rogers rules out Wright and Carr interest. I would guess the price would be too high now.
