Vic doesn't seem like a guy leaves a coaching position open for long. Has anyone heard any rumors about who may replace Staley?

According to some team sources, Broncos veteran offensive line coach Mike Munchak may want the team to go in a different direction at the center. Connor McGovern is set to be a free agent. but sources tell me Munchak may not be crazy about the idea of keeping McGovern around. Instead, Pat Morris could get a longer look at the center while the team looks to upgrade at the position. Munchak holds a lot of weight on Vic Fangio's staff, and Munchak's opinion could be the reason why McGovern wasn't extended last season after the team re-worked Joe Flacco's deal. The Broncos ended up signing Andy Janovich, but the money is there for them to get McGovern done and perhaps even Justin Simmons.

Munchak is widely regarded as one of the best offensive line coaches around the league, and he had a challenging time in his first year with Denver. He was tasked with trying to get left tackle Garett Bolles to improve, develop rookie starter Dalton Risner at left guard, and deal with injuries to veteran right tackle Ja'Wuan James. Denver's offense provided some signs of optimism for 2020 with the way rookie quarterback Drew Lock played to close out the season.

Even though Munchak may not want McGovern to return, the Broncos could re-sign McGovern if he has a cheap price. It will be interesting to see how Munchak would respond to that, but the veteran coach is likely to remain with Denver regardless.

They might of still been working last weekend/still.. you are right Vic knows his coaches he likes

McGovern never opened up enough holes at Center for our RB this year, but at Guard last year he was money.

He was fine at Center last year with a fatty that could push the pile so I still like him but the staff thinks better so who am I?

We now need two Starters on the OL according to that Rumor.

Freeman was top-notch before his injury last season. this year he struggled to find a hole We had power last year in the Center/RG hole. not so much this year.

It wouldn’t shock me if we moved McGovern to Guard when we cut Leary and draft a Center or go out and get one in FA.

I'm thinking McGovern stays at center on the drawing board. Hey we got Munchak - I think we will see a great improvement in the Oline this year. This year Munchak knows what he has on the roster -still knows players out there he likes and likely draft a few guys. If Bolles improves as much this next season as he did from the beginning to the end of last season - he will be pretty good. It will be interesting to see the talent free agents, draft picks - and roster guys who improved.
