Can't complain about being 120ft away from being champs, after expecting to finish in the bottom half of the Pac this season.

Safe to say that Johnson has AZ is about as good a spot as you can imagine for a first year coach. Things are looking up in Tucson!

Going to be tough to replace the likes of Ramer, Gibbons, Bannister, Agular, and Dalbec. I have faith in Johnson though. He was obviously a homerun hire if I ever saw one. Greg Byrne sure knows how to pick them.

It'll still be great to see how having a top 5 class (and beyond) goes, especially with a new coach. ASU has had top classes for decades, and not much has justified it in the last couple-few decades.

Obviously we hit the jackpot with Jay Johnson. The player from our class I'm most excited for is Nick Quintana, Midde infielder that was Nevada Gatorade player of the year. He turned down a a Red Sox draft pick to come to us and he's going to be awesome.

Baseball season is literally a few days away. Softball season started and our 10th ranked team just swept the Hillenbrand Invitational going 5-0 with a run differential of +33 including a win over ranked Baylor. Mauga (spelling?) hit 5 homers and is like 20 or so from breaking the NCAA all time record. I think our softball team is back.

Can't wait for the season to start. Haven't been this excited for Wildcat baseball in a long time.

I agree. Johnson seems to get the most out of his players and we have a solid crop this year. Can't wait to see how it shapes up!
