I thought I saw somewhere that he accepted the Coyotes offer.

I have no idea where I would have seen that today but I am pretty sure I did see it somewhere.

Saw that as well. He's got an agreement in place with the Yotes (Multiyear), but it won't become contract until the deal to keep the team in town is solidified.

Ok good I thought I was losing it.

I would have loved him on the Sabres but not for what they offered him.

no wonder the canucks gave him a free dinner ... because they sure as hell werent gonna be paying him what other teams were going to lol

Canucks pegged Shane Doan’s value below $2.5M | The Province

Check out David Pratt’s interview with Mike Gillis last night. For September 6, go to the 7:00 p.m. hour and scroll ahead to the 21:00 mark to listen to Gillis’ comments about Shane Doan.

Pratt asks Gillis if he could fit Shane Doan under the cap without moving anybody. Gillis says “for the time being”, which assumes that the Canucks’ offer to Doan was likely less than $2.5M per season.

According to Capgeek, the Canucks have $2,431,667 in space.

Buffalo offered Doan $7.5M over four seasons reportedly, but Doan wants to stay in Phoenix and is likely to if their ownership ever figures it out. I pegged Doan’s value this week at around $3M, so if Gillis is willing to go below that, it represents the “covenant” between the Canucks and their players’ salaries.

could "for the time being" mean "in the offseason, when clubs are allowed to be 10% over the cap"?
because that's a very different connotation.

I really still don't get all this fascination with Shane Doan, although it's probably due to the fact that the free agent pool was very shallow this off-season. Oh well, hopefully this saga will come to an end shortly.

I'm still hoping the ranger$ jump in with a 7 year $7MM per deal and sweep him off his aged feet!

apparently it will be a 4 year deal.
sure will be interesting to see the $$$, considering what Buffalo was offering.

At this point, still just a report...I realy wonder if

a) Jamison has the money and
b) if Glendale is looking to re-structure the deal

Doan obviously wants to stay in Phoenix and I can't blame him for that, but he has to know that things are still very much up in the air.

@Gambo620
It is down two - Phoenix and Vancouver. Coyotes Captain Shane Doan will sign a contract deciding where he will play by 5 pm NY time Friday

any contacts need to be signed by 5pm Friday to be sure they are filed by the time the CBA expires on Sat.
so expect a flurry of minor activity.... and Doan.

lol team1040's Scott Rintoul went to highschool with Shane Doans wife and during this process he emailed Shane Doan a picture of the day the Quebec govt/consortium broke ground and put shovels in the ground on the new arena

so blame sherminator Rintoul if its a multiyear, 4 million dollar plus per season contract with the Canucks

Aquilini probably handed him a few bags full of cash RT @News1130Sports: Bross says Doan was "BLOWN AWAY" by the #Canucks presentation

why do I get the impression that he will STILL turn down the Canucks which is good and bad

good - he turns us down
bad - another "high" profile free agent snubs us for a small market which is concerning

Unless the Jamison deal really blows up big time, I'm pretty sure Doan is signing with Phoenix.
