Charley Casserly recently observed that our combo of Garcon, D-Jax, Reed and Doctson was the best four-receiver combo in the NFL. If that's true, why not use that as a quasi-base offense? While Matt Jones is still a work in progress, spreading the field for him might do him some good. Or if those set of four receivers are that good, why not put in Crowder and use a five-wide set more often? I haven't crunched the number on how well that format worked last season, but I do recall that it was pretty successful in the times I remember it being used. In that format, some team's third and fourth CBs will have to cover two of those receivers, which is mismatch I'd love to see. Add in the fact that our o-line pass blocked well last season and you potentially have to some thought to this idea.
Anyways, just a (crazy) thought.
