D.C. will always be a Redskins town.
D.C. will always be a Redskins town.
I'm not so sure about that. I have seen a definite shift away from the Redskins in the last 5 years. This town used to be rabid about the team. Now, its apathy at best. And I only see it getting worse.D.C. will always be a Redskins town.
It was a thursday night game. What is an average football fan going to watch on thursday, reruns of Friends? If the Redskins played the same time as the WS game with the Nats in it, the WS game would kill the Redskins in eyeballs watching in the DMV.The TV numbers say it all. Nats playoff games are barely beating a 1-7 Skins regular season game. It's not a knock on the other teams in town it's just the fact that the NFL is king. The Nats couldn't even get the stadium halfway full this year while being the hottest team in baseball.
All that is true. That does not mean the Nats, Caps, and Bullets have a bigger following than the Skins. Rendon called out the Nats fans midseason. Don't get caught up in a pennant run. The Skins still rule D.C.
All I know is the Skins regular season games are on par with the Nats post season games tv rating wise this year. That's not opinion or buzz. That's a fact. I'm really not sure what we are debating at this point?
Being less angry at the Nats and Caps doesn't mean you are more interested in them. Show me a Nats or Caps board that gets as much action as this one does or the old ESPN one did. The fact that we are talking Nats on a Skins board proves my point.
That's not what we are saying. What we are saying is that, while the Redskins may still be the top dog, the popularity is waning at an alarming rate. Hardly anyone gives a shit anymore and that is dangerous. Ticket sales and merchandise sales are at an all time low.All that is true. That does not mean the Nats, Caps, and Bullets have a bigger following than the Skins. Rendon called out the Nats fans midseason. Don't get caught up in a pennant run. The Skins still rule D.C.
