I'm curious, in what other country is this type of protest constitutionally protected? Protest is actually the most "American" thing imaginable....after all......what do you think the whole revolutionary war thing, that gave rise to where we are today, about?

This type of protest is absolutely protected, if it is your platform. It is not the player's platform. The platform is owned by the owners. The platform is paid for by the government is paid for by the people. People have a right to protest unless it is against the employer's rules.

People also have a RIGHT to protest by not showing up or by not buying merchandise.

Wrong, to say that is akin to saying that there are soldiers willing to get paid but won't fight for the country. Yeah they exist, but just like the players that you're refer to....They must check then forgo their manhood before doing so.

BTW: and just to be ABSOLUTELY CLEAR.....anyone willing to give up their humanity for a dollar isn't worth living.

What? This makes no sense. The players will not throw away millions of dollars to be allowed to protest on the field. If these players refuse to play, there are players that will gladly replace them.

There is no game without fans to support it. That is the logical fact.

Why would anyone come to, no less pay to come to, an event that doesn't happen? I really don't want to question your logic, but, since you introduced it as fact, what precedes fan support? Doesn't there LOGICALLY have to be a product to sell? Doesn't that come first, and support come as a result of that product being available?[/QUOTE]

The event will still happen. Like I said, there will always be people willing to play a game for millions of dollars.

I guess IM not a patriot, because this doesnt really upset me.

I do find it fascinating though that people are a fuck ton more bent out of shape over players refusing to salute the flag/anthem in protest, than they are over a tax code thats broken, a health insurance system designed to pork us all, and a systematic agenda by the government over the last 240 years to KEEP this country divided no matter which political party is in power.

I don't think it makes you un-American or not a patriot. I also don't think people who are offended by it are un-American or not Patriots. People come on here to escape these things...people watch football for the same reason. Many people do not want to see spoiled millionaires bitching.

People are mad over the protests because they feel they can do something. They don't feel they can do anything about the government...which is extremely sad.

It has already been done before with replacement players, a few folks did come to those games, but it (fielding replacements) really was a failure league wide. Players gave up their pay checks then and rather than become a non person, they would, I suggest do it again.

It hasn't been tried long term. College football players haven't had their chance to make millions. College football gets incredible ratings. The collegiate players will play.

Nope, you won't be able to jump off subject, I won't let you, not with me. You came into my conversation playing Billy bad ass. Now either come find me with the intent to, in any manner that you choose to SMTFU. I'm here, and I'll let you in on a little secret, I've ACTUALLY fought in war before. Now either retract or back off. Either way, I don't give a damn!!

You said there would be no players... the players left in 1982... the games went on, the season went on, the superbowl went on... even though it took time to get teams together... and guess who won the SB?? The owners will do what the fans want. END of... story.

Kill that... piss-ant.

You dont walk away from a multi billion dollar endeavor. IN the end, the owners and the players will come to an agreement AGAIN, and we the fans will end up covering the cost in the form of ticket prices, raised prices on merchandise, and Direct TV Sunday ticket going up to $500 or more per season. IN no way shape or form will either side allow another replacement players season.

Nope, you want to play a full grown man behind the keyboard and feel all comfy telling someone else to STFU. I'm here let's do it!! I don't play shit like that!! Now you want to have a reasonable conversation? Hell naw, you don't get off that easy. You' chose to cross that line, so before we can have that conversation do the right thing and either apologize or find me. Your choice.
