That said, my mother made the worst fucking pot roast. Way overcooked and dry with shitty carrots and potatoes on the side. I will not eat pot roast for the rest of my life.

You'd eat mine and love it. I cook it in gravy for 5-6 hours and the potatoes and carrots turn brown cooking with it. It's so tender when I take it out, it breaks into pieces. It's so juicy that the only gravy you want is on the potatoes and carrots. You'd kick your favorite child around the house for seconds.

I would not eat onions when I was a kid. I grew remarkably skilled at eating around them.

My mom made a white trash special she called “scrambled hamburg” that was a staple dish in out house that was fucking terrible but it was edible with some ketchup (working around the onions if course). I would refuse to eat that shit now but I ate it then because it was that or nothing. My brother always opted for nothing lol.

Turnips! I can eat them now but my wife does not like them.

Creamed corn. If it's cooking in your house I have 10 seconds to get out or I'll puke.

Only thing I know of in my wide experience with many cultures that I will not eat.
I'd take a beating as a kid before I'd eat creamed corn.
I'll eat any other style of corn.....

I have a similar affliction to creamed corn, kinda weird to have such a detest for it but not any other way corn is served.
