You owned a '70 when you were drafted in the fall of '68?When I got drafted in 1968, gasoline was $0.16 a gallon. That Pontiac had a 20 gallon tank. $2.00 would just about fill it. Then again, I was making $55 a week and taking home $47.

Obviously you meant 1960 Impala. That's a sharp sled for sure.
It's a great life to grow up poor but then not be a "grownup poor".Favorite childhood memory....
Not many. I grew up poor. Poorest of the poor. Did go roller skating a lot and for my 9th birthday I got a pair of roller skates. I loved them. Probably the best present I ever got.

I looked up on Google Maps the house where I lived a majority of my childhood. Not much has changed
