That's awesome BigKen! Very much looking forward to fatherhood. First thing I told my wife though when the doctor announced the baby was a girl was "Ah crap now I have to worry about all the freaking boys." Called up my friend who is a professional MMA fighter and he is signed up when she turns 5 or so to come out and train her for a while to make sure no boy in this town messes with her ever. They will know my daughter is the one who can kick any one of the boys in this area's ass. My wife thinks I am going a bit overboard with that but hey would rather my daughter have that ability and not have to use it than not have it available and need it.

Congrats on the grandson getting accepted to the Manning camp. I have heard amazing things about that camp and that the Manning family are just class acts all the way.

Congrats on that Big Ken. That is"way cool" and I hope he has the expierience of a lifetime as well as you and family. Also CD I sure hope I didn`t forget to congradulate you on being a first time father. If I did, please accept my humble apologies sir. BTW I also became a grandfather for the first time last wk. Wasn`t sure I`d live to see the day as my oldest is 30 now. Very proud also. I have two daughters guys and believe me, you are very much more protective and worriesome with girls than boys. I had alot more freedom then my younger sisters for sure growing up and for good reason. Cheers!

Congrats to you sir on being a first time Grandfather! My dad keeps telling me that being a grandfather is so much better than being a dad as you get to have all the fun without all the worry. I also was like you in I pretty much could do whatever I wanted and my parents never worried. Heck I never had a curfew growing up but both of my younger sisters did. Maybe I ruined it for them I don't know. My wife keeps telling me we are not going to treat our daughter any different than if we had a son but I know that won't be true. First time she brings home a boyfriend I will definitely be cleaning my gun in the living room. I don't think I do that if I have a son and he is bringing home his girl friend.

Thanks CD and LOL on the gun cleaning. Usually works everytime:). Yeah by the time my folks got done with older sis and bro, they were well mentally wore out and as I also had two younger sisters too boot, I could pretty much do what I wanted while they had to revamp up the strength to start all over with the younger girls. Can`t say I minded one bit though:)

Not clear what to make of this: Broncos tender exclusive-rights agreements with Marshall, Garland and Cornick

Reads to me as if the team made moves that now makes it more likely than it previously was to lose Marshall, Garland, and Cornick as free agents. If that's right -- and I'm not sure that it is -- then I find those moves puzzling, particularly regarding Marshall.

Ok so this is actually a good thing for the team. What this means is the Broncos essentially have all 3 of these players signed for this next season. It is like the Franchise Tag but in a somewhat different way.

Marshall has the Exclusive Rights Free Agent Tag. This is a player that has been in the league only 2 years. A team can then put this Tag on them and it locks that player into a contract at the 3-year minimum salary for a player in the league and no other team can negotiate with them. The player has to take it or leave it but cannot sign with anybody else.

The Restricted Free Agent Tag is one for a player that has been in the league 3 years. Now this one a team can slap a certain round of value and each round is associated with how much they have to pay that player. Such as last year the Broncos slapped the RFA tag on Chris Harris with either a 1st or 2nd round Tender. Now this does mean another team can negotiate with that player but if they do sign them then they have to give up that draft pick in order to get that player. So if some other team wanted Harris we get their first round pick. We also have the right to match whatever offer is made towards that player.

So all that to say that Cornick, Marshall, and Garland are all signed to the team on the very cheap.

Been seeing a ton of these pop up on my twitter account but looks like quite a few of the Bronco players are getting to work early this off season. Good to see these guys not just taking an off season off and expecting to be great.

Wow, the Exclusive Rights Free Agent Tag sounds like a shitty deal for a player to get stuck with. Marshall is locked in for 3 years at the league minimum? Do I understand that correctly? If so, I would be pissed to get stuck with that. I hope that doesn't create some resentment on his part. Maybe I just don't understand it correctly.

So with FA just around the corner any ideas on what the Broncos will do?

My thoughts right now are the Broncos will sign one high quality starter for the OL. My guess is the end up with Wisniewski from the Raiders to play Center. He will probably cost around $4-5 million a year but good price for a good Center.

I think the only other big name that the Broncos might consider is that of Jordan Cameron of the Browns. They need to bring in at least 1 TE along with resign Green and then draft one in my opinion. Cameron has some injury concerns that drive down his value but I think he would be worth taking a shot on.

Beyond that I just see them doing some bargain shopping. Dan Williams is an option at the NT position as his price has been driven down some in my opinion by the huge number of NT's hitting the open market.

Da'Norris Searcy of the Bills makes sense to play FS for us. He had his first season of starting this last year but he showed some great promise.

No I meant that this upcoming season he is stuck with what a 3rd year player getting the league minimum would get. So essentially he is getting paid something like $700,000 for this upcoming season. Unfortunately for him this next year unless the Broncos sign him to a long-term deal then he is stuck at that price or not playing in the NFL. That is why honestly I wish the Broncos would lock him in long-term as he would probably be willing to take a less than what he is worth contract just to make a bit more. The Broncos can come to him with "hey we will pay you say $3 million a year on a 3-year contract even though you are probably worth closer to $6 million a year." So he gets paid more than the league minimum and the Broncos have him locked up a little bit longer on the cheap.

Right now there is some inticing names out there but by the 10th ar so we will prob see even more shockers released and then the talent pool is really going to open up. Were just now seeing some crazy releases/trades happening so far and the way it`s looking Denver could very well get their hands on some players we never expected to be available. I imagine Elway and co. are already getting info and possibly trades talks working as we speak. The unexpected is looking like a real trend so far.

A name maybe to keep an eye on for the OL is Jeremy Parnell of the Cowboys. They just resigned Doug Free but when he went down with injury one could argue that Parnell actually played just as good and will come at a much cheaper rate than Free. Good bargain signing if we can get it done.

Here is what I am hearing so far Free Agency wise...

Knighton is getting quite a few offers but good chance with the Raiders missing out on Suh that Knighton becomes an even bigger priority for them.

Franklin looks like he is heading to the Chargers. Not too happy about this one but his price is looking to be quite hefty.

Green is the one FA the Broncos actually seem interested in keeping at this time. They have made him an offer but he is weighing his options as he has had 13 teams contact his agent with at least 6 of those showing strong interest in actually signing him. It sounds like a big issue for him is he wants to go to a team that will feature him as more than just the blocking TE.

Moore is getting quite a few looks. Probably won't sign until MCourty gets taken by somebody though.

As for who the Broncos are pursuing...Haven't really heard much other than they will push for Wiz2 from the Raiders. Right now the Broncos look like a team that will wait for the 1st wave of FA's to get signed this year. Teams are vastly overpaying for talent meaning that 2nd wave of players could be coming at a bargain with all the big cap teams blowing through their money on big names.

I just feel like with not getting Greene signed right away we're in danger of someone coming in and stealing him from us which wont be good. If we go into FA with no TE's on our roster we'll be in trouble unless we're making a run at Jordan Cameron or Maxx Williams in the 1st round.

I think what we do in the first few days of FA will be a big tell as to whether we go TE, OL, or NT in the 1st round.

I think we are likely to offer Owen Daniels and or James Casey a deal. Same with Ngata and or Wilfork. Not so sure about OL, but I have to think that we will become active in the next few days. Kind of an unfamiliar position after jumping in with high profile signings early in free agency the past few years.

I could see Owen Daniels since he only ever plays for Kubiak lol and taking a run at Ngata or WIlfork would put us in a good spot.

Jake Long just got cut, any thoughts on signing him to play RT and moving Vasquez back to guard?

I like the guy Duff but man has he had major issues making it even thru half a season in his career. Afraid he isn`t going to be too sought after mostly due to lack of playing time and not talent. To bad but don`t think he`s worth the gamble.
