At the time they signed him his fastball had a little more gitty up on it and his cutter was good enough to win 17 games so it probably looked like a wise decision when they gave him the money. Luckily for him, MY and few others, GM's don't have the ability to look into the future. Looking forward the 600k will be money spent more wisely.

And it was you who hijacked it Scotty with the MY comparisons. All I did was use him, Feldman and few others as an examples of GM mistakes. You could have just as easily focused on the "few others"....Harden and Oswalt come to mind.

whatever cupcake

Well I just can't wait to see MY's version of what that will be considering his abysmal showing in back to back post seasons ... and a deficit WAR performance in 2012. He's got a Grand Canyon to dig himself out of.

You may hate him, but his numbers (non-bullshit positional WAR stuff) aren't terrible. They are bad when you compare him with other DH, they are bad when you figure in his contract, and they are bad when you figure in what he usually hits...but he is hitting around .275 with some decent RBI's. He's not a world beater and he should be making less, but this contract is paying him for what he did in his last contract. That is the way sports works. You get paid based on what you did, not what you are doing.
