in the sunlight the white hurts to look at. its ridiculously bright. it looks way better than the old, though. pretty much everyone that has seen it has said that before they didn't think we needed to spend the money on it, but now that they see the difference, they are glad we did.

There is a giant iron that is used. The company employs a 50 foot tall iron woman to come in and operate it. She also changes the bulbs in the stadium lights while she is there.

I think once they lay the cork it might not be as bright? Not sure.

@ 3:09 in Brasky's video it looks like the decals may have an adhesive backing. After they roll Tulsa back, in the next frame there is a pile of debris above Tulsa like they peeled it off the back. Same happens when they do the other half of Tulsa. They may be sewn on after that even.

Their website calls for...

◦Off-load Turf Rolls and Place Turf (3 Days)
◦Sew Turf Panels (8 Days)
◦Install Field Markings and Decorative Markings (8 Days)
◦Install Infill (5 Days)
◦Remove Construction Entrance/Clean Up/Demobilize/Test Field (3 Days)

Adhesive holds them in place so they don't move while being sewn in be my guess

It's so strange because I've been on the practice fields (which are identical to the stadium turf in every way) and you would never guess it was anything but painted on. It's gotta be a product that they use a heating device and melt it on to the field or something.

Seriously though if it's a sewn on decal (laid on top) wouldn't that make for an un-level surface?

Yeah that's what I thought I saw. Makes sense. They cut it out and then stitch that in I guess.
