Yeah I share all the concerns. We rarely win these games and we're traveling to a desperate Giants team who is playing for their season. Sure this has the feel of a different team but don't forget Miami was still winnable until our defense couldn't make a stop at the end whey they had to. Again. Good news is the Giants often start this way and it's better we play them now then later in the year. I also agree that we will have a 6-10/7-9 sort of season but damnit it's fun to actually have a big game for once.

I like Shark's call. They will sell out to stop the run, they simply have to do that. I pray our coaching staff makes the necessary adjustments, this has not really happened in 2 years. Give Kirk a chance to win the game instead of being so afraid he will lose it, especially with 8 man fronts and a vulnerable secondary.

Some believe that KC has a step-up gear citing "if only he can rid himself of those turnovers" or something to that effect. I DO NOT!!! Kirk at his best is a game manager, turnovers or not, that is what he is! Mind you that is not to say that having a good game manager is not enough to get the job done. How else do you explain successful QB's here like D. Williams, M. Rypien and J. Theisman? Anybody remember that Reed catch and run in the last game? Well, that's Kirk, get them the ball quickly and safely and let them do the rest. (YAC's)

Another thing being overlooked is the effect of a short week on RBs. This short week hurts running teams...like ours.

Probably true. While we all would like to have a Tom Brady, KC is a step in the right direction. After what we have had behind center for the last few years, a consistent game manger is welcomed. It's also true that with more experience, his game should improve, if for no other reason than his ability to identify defensive schemes pre snap

I hope that you are correct. However - keep in mind that Cousins was the guy under center for 9 of those games. Except for a few scares thus far he is avoiding the big mistake & did show that he could come through in the clutch last week. He is not out of the woods yet but hopefully will continue to make a case to be their QB for a very long time. Through the first few weeks he is playing better than most as many of the so called elite QBs have not played that well to date.

Perhaps playing from behind so much accounts for some of Kirks TOs. We are giving him a better chance at being successful this year with the running game and TOP.

Agree - a successful running game has helped as it generally does. Along with most likely a lot of offseason work by Cousins this has likely been one of the main keys. Pretty encouraging that they are doing well w/o Jackson. If they can keep running well Jackson should have some really big games later in the year.

i agree however the season is young so lets give hope a chance man :D

i see us as 6-10 with a bunch of close frustrating games , mistakes and injuries

Sadly, this team has a way of killing my optimism. :L

With GMSM and Callahan, I am probably as hopeful as I've been since 2012. I could see us winning this week.

All of these help any young QB. But let's not discount that he has gained experience and is learning from his mistakes. He is by no means out of the woods and I'm sure he will still have moments and games where we say WTF, but let's not throw him under the bus when he does. It's all a part of the learning process. Give him this season and then we can evaluate his growth, or lack there of.

Perfectly sensible approach and one we should all be taking. As a constant critic of Kirk over the year I'm ready to say that I'm not sure he will top out at Game Manager status. He moved the team very well last year, his MO was more Gunslinger than Game Manager. While I can understand why Grudog has him on a short leash because of this it does limit our ability to score. Again going 80 yards in 15 plays is a lot to ask on every drive.

Damn I wish they had connected on the deep ball to Grant. He didn't seem to adjust too well on that play, guess that's what separates the great ones from the rest. Steve Smith catches that ball even today.

Agree & I mentioned that in my reply. I have stated several times that this team consists of a lot of younger players who are going to make mistakes as part of the learning process & that includes Cousins. I will learn to bite my tongue for the most part. HTTR

Well that is why they have Jackson & if the running game continues to do well I have no doubt that we will all see more than a few long TDs from him this season.

Manny says that incompletion was on Cousins ( poor throw) and that Grant ran a perfect route fwiw.

Yeah I get it, it was overthrown. I just see great WRs make the adjustment and go get that ball. But again it's probably not fair to compare Grant with Julio Jones.
