I don't get all the fuss over what was said.

He was basically saying that a Pro-Bowl, All-Pro QB isn't going to just walk through the door, as most fans want to believe could/can happen.

This is a non-issue.

The Bengals need to be concerned with what the offensive players think of Andy. It became very obvious Sunday that these guys have little confidence in the guy. And when that goes, you're done.

And with respect to the play calling on certain downs, I am not sure if it was the original play call that Gruden sent in (fucking ridiculous if so) or if Andy changed it at the line of scrimmage (worse off for him b/c he is an idiot). Maybe both were happening...

Either way, something has to change. If Zimmer leaves, I am done with this team b/c they will not be worth a shit anymore... back to the 90s.

It strikes me as MB stroking his own ego with a healthy dose of revisionist history

I don't see it leading to any significant change

when you are mathematically in the game, your players need to think that you can get them there. The Bengals gave up before they were mathematically eliminated in the playoff game and it showed.

Dalton could not lead them.

We struggled with sellouts the last three years. We would have struggled much more this year if our schedule didn't break right -- We started the year with a MNF against Pitt (always sold out - always a bunch of hillbillies from Pitt). We then had two games at home against NE and GB - Those are hot tickets for casual fans (not the mention the fact that the GB game was on Octoberfest weekend which is just begging for Wiscy folks to show). By the time we played our fourth home game we were 5-2 and looking entertaining.

Even with the good season, we had trouble selling tickets against Cleveland, Minny and Baltimore.

Agree, but only to a point.

I mean, he hears the critisism of Dalton, and himself, and I think the thought is, fans think there are All-Pro QB's out there just waiting for a job. Gruden didn't state a deep, dark, well-kept secret. He simply told the truth.

Coaches have to take the long-view of things because they have to work within the confines of reality. Fans don't have to do that. We can hit the boards and talk about drafting a QB, or finding a new F/A QB, and immediately being in contention, and have all these pipe dreams, but in the end, it's not reality. If that were the case, then no team would have QB problems, ever. Or coaching issues, or WR issues, etc...etc.

Except the Browns. They will always have QB problems, and coaching problems. Because they are the Browns.

Every single team in the entire league has won a playoff game since the last time the Bengals did. Stop. Just stop.

the browns are possibly more likely to win a playoff game before the Bengals do.

remember when the Bengals used to use the excuse "we're just a few players away"
