YO DUDE! FUCK YOU! Get a job some damn where else wit that punk shit you are talking.....Pompous smart ass coaches...fuckin think they know everything....

Gruden has an article on NFL Mobile talkin about how Colin wasnt ready abd Abdy was most QB NFL ready....He you know what???? I would have been happy with a losing season in 2011 if Kaep would have been ready in 2012 which I think he would have...Kaep in this offense would have more options than wht he has in San Fran.....Kaep would have been lights out with Green, Eifert, Gresham and Gio....and Jones.....LIGHTS OUT!

Not buying that shit! We could have started anyone played him towards the end of 2011 and had him ready in 2012...what worse could it have done??? Not much...

I get a feeling Mike Brown isn't as loyal to Jay Gruden as he is to others.

he's hoping Gruden gets a job elsewhere so he doesn't have to explain why he fired him.

Brown wanted Kaepernick, Gruden talks him into selecting Dalton.
They give Dalton a FREAKING LOADED OFFENSE THAT SHOULD BE BLOWING THE DOORS OFF THE COMPETITION.

Gruden is gone one way or another, you never convince Brown he's wrong about something when he's right. big mistake.

God, I hope you are right. I was kind of shocked to read that Brown wanted Kaep... surprising he let that cat out of the bag before the playoff game. I hope like hell that was a warning shot to Gruden and Andy that he is not impressed with either.

If Zimmer leaves this team, we are screwed. If Gruden leaves this team, I think Hue will make some changes or at least suggest them. He talked Brown into trading Carson... so who knows.

It strikes me as MB stroking his own ego with a healthy dose of revisionist history

I don't see it leading to any significant change

It's great theater, aint it?

Just like "reality" tv. It's all a ruse for our own amusement.

I need to see Gruden's comment in his context to be sure, but I think I get his point.

11 regular season wins, 33 td passes, 4300 yards. Dalton's had a good season for a young QB.

And the team might has well have gone 0-16. If we were a few years removed from a post season win like most teams are then he may have a point. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. The Bengals, for whatever reason, flat out refuse to treat their fan base in a respectful manner. The condescending tone from the owner to the coaches to the PR spinning "beat writers" is sickening. Don't even get me started on their official website.

Mike Brown sits atop his Ivory Tower in a publicly funded palace, employs condescending assholes, and has the gall to ask "please sir, may I have some more." Go fuck yourself, Mike.

And you saw the type of QB Dalton truly is when the rest of the team around him isn't playing at a high level.

Obviously there is a lot of blame to go around, but in Sunday's game, you really see the type of QB Dalton is when he doesn't have the huge talent around him firing on all cylinders. And it's pitiful.

What's the solution though?

Send a bunch of draft picks to a team who picks in the top 5?

Sign a veteran retread who's a FA for a reason?

I think you go with Dalton until the wheels fall off. Maybe it ends like Schaub did in Houston this season. Maybe it ends like Flacco in the SB last season.

At this point his coaches have to back him as their QB in the media. I don't know what else there is to do

The first step would be to not condescend to the fan base. That would be a nice start.

I don't think you can let it get to that point. The Bengals are talented enough to be a bona fide Super Bowl contender if they had a reasonable quarterback. You can't just fold like Houston.

If we don't draft a QB with our 1st pick, I would think it would almost be worth bringing in a guy like Mike Vick on a one year deal, not necessarily to start, but to just be there to let Dandy know that there ARE other viable options on the team. I don't think MV would be much worse.

At the end of the day, we're going to have to draft someone, and if there's not a guy the front office feels like is a 'can't miss' guy this year, then they're going to have to do something to set us up for an early pick next year.

Unfortunately this is probably the strategy. I could imagine a situation where the following happens:

--Zimmer leaves.

--The secondary struggles as Leon takes half the year to get back to form (happened last year), Newman is done, Pacman shows age, and Dre doesn't progress.

--Johnson is gone, Atkins struggles to get up to speed and the run defense is suddenly weak.

-- Dalton's confidence is shot and his teammates confidence is low.

-- Depth on the offensive line disintegrates - AC is gone, either Tits or Whit get hurt, Boiling takes a while to get back.

Bengals go 5-11.

I'm not saying this will definitely happen. The roster is strong and we don't really lose anyone we can't replace. We could just as easily roll out the same team and pull out a 10-6 and win a weak division (Pitt, Baltimore and Cleveland missed the playoffs for a reason).

But it could happen -- Similar to what happened with Houston this year. That's why it's imperative that they don't give Andy a deal this season. Sign AJ to a big deal, draft a few guys, and consider going one more year with Johnson. Go all in for NEXT season. If the wheels do come off you let Andy and Marvin walk and you bring in a new qb and new coach for 2015. There would be some attractive pieces -- Atkins, Burfict, AJ, Gio, Dunlap, Eifert.....

I didn't take it as a condescending comment. I though it was an acknowledgement that having an elite QB would be great, but none are available

We're also looking at road games against the Saints, Colts, Patriots, Bucs, and Texans. And home dates against the Broncos and Panthers. Throw in our usual difficulties in the division (3-3 this season) and next year has all the makings of the wheels coming off.

The schedule always looks tough before the season though.

I could see a scenario where Dalton's stats continue their slight upward trajectory. Atkins (the best player on the team) comes back healthy and boosts the defense. Gio turns into the star RB he showed flashes of being as a rookie. They continue their great run of draft picks etc.

That's just as plausible to me as the team imploding. I could see either scenario and anywhere in between

At this point I think they have to back Dalton. I'd be shocked if he's not the QB in week 1 and he's already getting destroyed in the media ( a bit unfairly imo). Anything else would create controversy

It's funny how perceptions work. If Dalton would have played an average game and the Bengals would have squeaked out a win against SD and then lost by 10 or less in NE everyone would be on the Bengals bandwagon for next season.

This aint Pee Wee. Dalton has failed and failed miserably in EVERY SINGLE high profile game he's played in.

Get rid of that bum now, please.
