Just the fact that you saw comments from him there means he is in your head and he owns you!

I guess this means if Crosby is out the West is definitely better now. All kidding aside, I hope he recovers soon.

Not to sound crass but I can wait for the actual camps to start so we can talk about the guys that will be playing. He is one guy, and I wish him the best but another 600 are about to start playing.
It was a concussion. Who the hell knows when he will be back, that is the nature of the injury butthe dude doesn't have cancer. He will live. When he's better, he will play.
I am just sick of this whole story. Will he? Won't he? Did he have a setback? Is he skating? Leave the little bastard alone and let him come back when he can. Until then, talk about the guys who ARE playing. His agent is doing him a disservice a bit as well, IMO.
He was arguably the best player in the game. It is news and should be reported.
I've also seen the occassional dupdawg72 comment on there as well...

Maybe he should consult with Dave Scatchard on whether or not it's worth it to continue playing...
Scatchard’s voice cracked with emotion at times during a remarkably candid telephone interview Monday with the Star after he announced his retirement on Twitter — especially when he was talking about his kids and the end of his career.
“Even today I have trouble pushing my kids on a swing set,” said Scatchard from his home in Phoenix. “Just the motion makes me really nauseous. Wrestling around with them on the ground, I can only do it for a minute or two and then I just feel sick. Any rolling motions or spinning motions just completely send me for a loop.”...
“I’m happy that the doctor basically told me straight out there was zero chance of me playing because it kind of put me in my place,” said Scatchard, sounding anything but happy. “I believe the doctor’s exact words were he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if he let me continue to play.”
Scatchard suspects that concussions played a role in the recent tragic death of former Vancouver tough guy Rick Rypien.
Last week, it was an XM Home Ice report that Sidney Crosby(notes) would miss the start of the 2011-12 regular season due to his post-concussion symptoms. Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero denied Crosby had shut down his training, despite still experiencing "some symptoms."
On Monday, it was a CTV Atlantic report claiming that "Sidney Crosby's concussion symptoms have returned, and he may not be ready for the start of the NHL season." From CTV:
The Cole Harbour, N.S., native has not played a game since January 5, 2011, after he suffered his second hit to the head in less than a week. Sources say Crosby's concussion symptoms returned last week and he cancelled all of his scheduled on-ice workouts at a Halifax-area rink.
Another report, and another denial, this time from Crosby's agent Pat Brisson to ESPN.com:
"Sidney hasn't been shut down by anyone. He has simply adjusted his summer program accordingly to the different needs for the appropriate recovery", Crosby's agent Pat Brisson said. "Training camp is in three weeks from now. It is too premature to speculate all kinds of deliberate information at his point. Sidney will address the media at the appropriate time in order to give everyone an update. As far as I know training camp hasn't started yet."
No, it hasn't. Nor is Crosby back in Pittsburgh to visit with his doctors, who will be the ones to determine if he's ready for contact and, hence, ready for camp.
Crosby's symptoms "have returned?" That's the scoop? Shero said as late as last week that Crosby's experiencing symptoms and, logically, might be missing on-ice workouts.
That he could miss camp or the start of the season is obviously an option. But as his agent said, it's premature to speculate — or report with certainty — that he will.

You're talking about the 21st century sports media, here. The days of not hearing about a big story when it breaks, or in this case, updates to a big story as it happens, are over. And yes... it is a big story. Sid's brand is one of the most popular in the game, today. If this were Ovechkin, the speculation would be the same.
Oh come on. If Ovechkin were hurt like this, the speculation around him would be much bigger.
I agree with both of you. I agree with 46 that this shouldn't be a constant story percolating with new rumors every couple weeks. But in an age with dozens of sports channels and round-the-clock coverage on radio, TV, the Internet, Twitter, Wuphf, etc., it's unavoidable. On the plus side, hockey is often ignored/minimized by many sports reporters, so you don't have to hear about it every day. Just imagine if Lebron had gotten a concussion...

Hahaha, that's awesome. I figured people would just gloss over it or not know what it is. Kudos, sir.
