Can anybody explain why Trent Murphy isn't getting more PT? He got another half sack today and hit Flacco three more times. He is playing extremely well.

Also, hat is off to Ziggy Hood as he wreaked havoc inside.

Dunbar looked very good.

We still can't tackle for shit.

hood did very well today as did murphy , i think you will see more TM at DE with smith and kerrigan on the filed too

tackling was a lot better yesterday. The coaching staff is giving every opportunity to let RK and PS succeed. Yes TM has some nice pressures yesterday. All I can say is that its just a rotational thing.

I was really upset at the play of Compton in the first half. Same shit different day. Suddenly he turned it around and with that the defense improved dramatically.

Numerous players made up for mistakes/poor play during the latter part of yesterday's game. Cousins made up for his horrible INT by driving the team downfield a few times. Jones somewhat made up for his fumble with some key runs (& appeared to have a death grip on the ball the whole time). The defense made up for poor plays by playing very inspired in the 2nd half.

If nothing else it shows some real fight in this team. Hopefully they keep it up moving forward.

Agree. He is also like several members of this team in that he is going to make good plays and some bad ones. He is a decent but not spectacular player, but it is certainly not due to lack of effort.

It's his second fumble. Now if he can just learn how to run with power and not stutter step into the hole. I would like to see more of Kelly.

Jay, I totally agree. I like Kelly much more. He is much quicker and runs every bit as powerful. I also think he has better vision.

I was fine letting go of Alf, he just didn't seem to have that gear to turn 8 yards into 20. But every game we see plays that should be 8 yards and Jones gets 2. Every single game. The fumbles are not the big issue, he just isn't a very good back when it is so obvious we can see it cleasrly.

To clarify - he has two fumbles but has only lost one. Agree about Kelly & possibly also using Thompson more. I think that this is an area where they do the best that the can for now & make perhaps significant changes over the offseason.

I agree that he is inconsistent, but I don't know if I would say that Jones isn't good at all. You are correct about some of the disappointing runs. However - he also quite often rips off some big gains. I would also have to question the Redskins' run blocking - it could be better.

Jones is probably not their long term answer but can help if they get some contributions from the other backs & if the Redskins O line steps it up a bit in this area.

I really thought they could be fine with Jones. He wasn't ever going to be great but plenty of teams have won with a good back. But it's becoming clear that he isn't a good back. This isn't a WR who needs time to develop the nuances of the position, this is a RB and you either have the instincts or you don't and that is clear very early on.
