Well I am definitely one happy Bronco fan today. Couple more signings like that of Ware and I might just start thinking I could run through a wall out of excitement.

Where is all that money coming from? Seems ridiculous that they can obtain all of these high profile players while having to pay Peyton Manning, Wes Welker, etc.

Would it be possible for them to sign Ware & Jared Allen?

Well it would be possible as anything is possible in manipulating the Cap Number but probably wouldn't be smart.

As for where is all the money coming from. Part of it is coming from the release of 2 of the top 5 paid Bronco players in Champ (saved us about $10 million) and Kuper (Saved us about $5 million). So essentially the Broncos traded Champ/Kuper (both back ups this past season) for Talib/Ward. So now the money to sign Ware is just the money the Broncos had at the beginning of Free Agency anyway.

The Broncos also are very good with the Cap. They don't sign many long term deals. I would say half the team is on 1-2 year deals at this point. So this means every year quite a bit of money is coming off the books making it easier to resign rookies coming off of contract that we want to keep and then adding some veterans here and there. It also does help having Peyton Manning and John Elway in the building. Elway has gotten the nickname "The Closer" as most players that enter the building don't leave without a contract and usually one that is team friendly. The promise of competing for a Super Bowl is attractive to quite a few players and the Broncos do give them a fair contract offer so they don't feel insulted. Look at TJ Ward. He didn't get top dollar for his position like he could have but he still is making a great deal while being on a competitive team. Nothing quite like playing for the Browns for a huge chunk of your career to motivate you to want to go to a winner. Same with Ware.

Also those that think the Broncos are setting themselves up for Cap Hell really need to look at the books. First off Talib's contract is really a 3-year contract not 6. They can cut ties with minimal dead money after 3-years. Next year alone they are expected even with these new signings to have $60-70 million in Cap Space to be able to sign guys like Von Miller, D. Thomas, and J. Thomas. So they can still keep the core of the team together even with the big money they are spending.

Also the Broncos do not back load many of their contracts. They will do that with maybe 1-2 a year kind of thing but for the most part they try to keep it pretty even for all the years as to not find themselves with one season just contracts going crazy on them.

Wrong thread :L

On this thread someone asked how the Broncos can afford all these guys. I understand it probably belongs on the FA thread more than the draft thread but just answering the question.

Broncos got a huge steal in Ward. Don't know how he didn't get a higher offer than that. Big overpay for Talib though.
