Corey Linsley was one of the 2 players I was talking about, who should not still be on the board. I know I may be in the minority here - but I have him ranked as the 2nd best Center.

Richburg, then Linsley, imo.

Who did you have as the #1 Center?

No...it's a great example. It proves that a 7th rounder is worth the risk on a player that never really lived up to expectations in college. There was a reason they were hyped coming out of HS. Maybe they were living off their reputations in college or maybe they were miscast in the collegiate scheme. Either way, a 7th is worth the risk because the success rate of a 7th rounder is probably 1%.

There are a ton of players who have slid because of collegiate issues. Warren Sapp slipped because of marijuana...now he's a HOFer.

Randy Moss slipped because of off-field collegiate issues...HOFer.

Fair point. i tottally destoryed the point i was making lol...

its just my opinion with the amount of off field issues, with the injury history, i know he said he was dehydrated but im not sure i really believe that. so in my opinion i would now question his heart and dedication too playing.

i dunno there is just something there with all i have read and even watched from him that i just dont think as high on him.

I don't believe it either...I believe he is a dumb ass.

I'm not saying I really want him on the Redskins either but if he's there in the 7th, the reward far exceeds the risk. Like I said, the odds of a 7th being successful is probably less than 1%...so you might as well take the guy with upside. I like late round guys being freakish athletes or small school guys. To me it seems like a guy who was average in a big conference is likely to be far below average in the NFL.

Ok, I'm on the clock. Am I completely missing it, or is WR Jeff Janis still on the board?

He's not even listed on Walterfootball.

Why the hell do people put Walterfootball in such high regard????

You do know that the ENTIRE site is run by one self-proclaimed football analyst… And 2 writers he hired. Here's the dude's profile:

Here's a story about him:
There?s no mocking a man who makes living off NFL mock drafts | UTSanDiego.com

It's pure genius what he was able to do… But I definitely wouldn't call it the most trustworthy source.

I kind of agree with you here. He has some decent research and points. But some of his rankings at times are way outta left field. I use him, but not exclusively.

Thoughts on my draft?

Chargers picks

1.25 Lois Nix - BPA easily at the 25 spot. I have him ranked as my #1 Nose tackle for a 3-4 Defense. We just lost ours to the Steelers, and this was also a high need pick.

2.8 Jason Verrett - Corner back is probably our #1 need. Imo, there are only 3 elite corners in the draft. May be a nickle corner but that is a huge position imo. Had to move up to get him.

4.25 Dri Archer - Guy will make a huge impact as both a playmaker/RB/slot WR and on special teams. Right now we only have 1 good healthy receiver and we have him running back punts and kicks. Dangerous if we lose him. Fastest man in the draft.

5.25 Christian Kirksey - Talented and very versitle OLB who fits perfect in our 3-4 Defense. Can blitz and very good coverage guy. Should make the team and add depth for us.

7.8 L'Damian Washington - May/may not be a reach here, but it's the flipping 7th Round. Not many 6'4 guys out there who can run a 4.4 like he can. Also, my thinking was we had 2 big bodies WR's: Floyd, who almost died and may never come back; and Alexander who was also injured and we may lose.

Wasn't able to address O-line, but we did kinda solidify that last year and re-signed everyone of importance. Other than that, I'm pretty happy.

It's not high regard, it's just another source.

Some people use that site… And ONLY that site and think that it's the best. I'd rather take a site like cbs/espn/nfl since they are renowned organizations that pay for top notch analysts. Not a self-proclaimed site that uses other people data for making their big boards, and has only 2 writers to "pick" their best prospects per position based solely off of 3 people's opinions (assuming ALL 3 of them contribute).

Just realized I messed up Henry Josey's college. Somehow the Auburn game when he got shoved hard out of bounds into a cart was on my mind. Thanks for correcting it Nos.
