Yeah a bit surprised by the receiver pick. They took Marquise Lee in the 1st round so Herron most likely plays a reserve role for the team where Watt could have been a starter. This leaves the Chiefs with still at least 1 hole at Guard to fill with Watt being a decent choice to actually start. He is not the top tier Guards in this draft but is great value this late in the draft. Oh well to each his own.

My thinking is Lee is a #2 for now, but they still need a new slot guy with DMC leaving, and Herron fits that. Jenkins/Hemingway are reserves and they added Dressler from the CFL. Avery will be gone after this year probably. They do probably need another G but I read that Mewhort plays both so that was my thinking with him. It was between him and Dozier at that point.

Sorry fellas was in a meeting. I dont mind the Chiefs came and changed their pick although it would be nice if they either.

A. Showed up when they were scheduled to pick.
B. Left a list so this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

Yeah sorry I missed it I got stuck at work right at the time. Thanks for changing it.

Who is going to be the Right Tackle then? I guess I just look at the Chiefs and see at least 2 maybe 3 OL positions that need to be filled. Jeff Allen can fill one of the guard spots for this upcoming season but that still leaves one guard and one tackle that right now have very subpar players at and with how many good pass rushers are in the AFC West that could spell trouble. I understand the going for a WR but this draft is deeper at receiver than OL especially at the slot where guys fall a bit further. Plus since the Chiefs are such a run first type team having a good OL seems to be all the more important. Again everybody has their different ideas and can't fault you for filling a hole on the team. Obviously teams struggle to fill all the holes every year so maybe OL will just have to wait.

Right, and S needs to be addressed for depth, though I think Commings will be good opposite Berry, and Abdullah too. Stephenson is the RT, with Fisher, Hudson, Allen(who I think sucks)and then either Linkenbach or drafted player. Some people have Sua-Filo or whatever his name is in the 1st but they need to grab one of the top 5 receivers. I was going to actually take Archer but I missed out.

Oh I understand the pick. I just always think building the OL and DL is the most important part on a team behind finding a good quarterback. Everything else on the offense and defense flows from the lines and how they do. You can have the best coverage guys in the secondary but if the line isn't getting to the quarterback they are going to look pitiful on defense. On offense you can have the best quarterback and running back in the league but if they are getting hit in the backfield right away then the offense is going to suck.

Right now for me I see Stephenson, Hudson, Allen, and Linkenbach as journeyman players. Most OL's have one or two but having 4 on the line is a quick way to get the quarterback killed and Charles no chance to get going. You drafted one player in the 3rd which is fine just think the team needs as many bodies going into camp to see who can win the spots and get the best 5 on the field. Again personal preference though.

Right now i see Mewhort starting at right tackle. which is going to leave KC middle O line very vulnerable to middle preassure. on thing Any always had in Philly was good O lines. you cant throw like he does and not be able to protect...

Yeah, I guess I just figured I'd stock up the WR corps early and at least get one OL who can maybe start from day 1. Anyone after Round 3 is a crapshoot as much as Allen or Linkenbach anyway. Hudson and Stephenson should be solid players for awhile, Hudson was pretty highly rated when drafted. It definately is a below avg unit overall I agree. They'll have to figure it out over the next year, maybe taking one in the 1st in 2015. They also have Rishaw Johnson who is raw but the coaches think he could be a sleeper.

great pick. how much tread is left on those tires? lol

Low Mileage ... he'd few carries as Soph & Jr.
Carried the load and led the Nation in rushing for a spell last season
He's a good blocker but has poor hands as a receiver
