I disagree, to a point. You could have one such 3-4 OLB, who strictly rushes, because, combined with your front 3, that's a 4 man rush, so Bosa would essentially be a 3rd and long/obvious passing down only player. If you pair him with Suggs, one of them is playing coverage or you are strictly rushing 5, which will get you killed if that's all you can do

I think defensive fronts and Bosa individually are both more versatile than that. I dont see any reason hed be more of a liability than any NFL OLBs.

I really don't see this at all. No way his speed rush/bend is good enough.
If Spence has his life together, he could be a big hit. Either way, if I'm the Pack. I'm looking for an inside backer at some point so I could get Matthews back outside

If you are saying he is never gonna play coverage, then he's a specialist and essentially a DE in a 4 man rush .That's possible, but is a specialist worth a top 10 pick? In a 4-3, he'd never have to play coverage, but I promise you, in a 3-4, any offense can put one of the OLB's in coverage. If not Bosa, then Suggs

Not saying never saying rarely. Not to mention every olb in the nfl gets put in coverage at some point and none of them are good at it. Not drafting a pass rusher because he can't cover would be silly.

Its a strong LB class but I feel like there are a lot of situational and hybird LBs and not many 3 down guys.

I think assuming a 4-3 end can play 3-4 OLB is a little silly too. It's much easier for a 3-4 OLB to transition to rush end in a 3-4, but in that scenario, he's likely a pass rush specialist as well. Agree to disagree:suds:

Spence is potentially the best pass rusher in the draft. I would be thrilled to get him. I actually like Matthews in his role last year with him since he has lost a little juice in his outside rush as he approaches 30. He was able to impact the game in so many ways and i think it helped keep him healthy. He was great at reading and moving through the trash in the run game like he had been at it his whole career. Problem is he wants no part of it and wants to play outside and they say they're moving him back, but have done nothing to address the position before the draft and Ragland and Lee won't last to 27. Ted Thompson really just doesn't value ILB very much at all.
