As do I. Just so many points.

Drew lead the Kings in Pp, even strength and PK time I think he was the only player to do that this year, but that could have changed near the end of the year.
Karlsson wasn't used much on the PK and some people will look at that. Karlsson was on the ice for more goals against than anyone. Of course his team sucked so he had that.
Burns scored a bunch and gave up a bunch. His team sucked less, so that will count against him more than Karlsson.

I hope Drew comes in third and it pisses him off next year.

I think Doughty gets a lifetime achievement award here. I also think he's as deserving as anyone this year.

I love Letang, but he's out for the same reason Crosby doesn't have a shot at the Hart - they played the first 3rd of the season in the Mike Jonston system, and unfortunately that third still counts.

Sadly this is all to true. Letang was awesome this year though. Scumbag factor aside.

On the Karlsson note, I doubt he gets it this year because his team missed the playoffs. It would be interesting to see who votes on that basis though, considering that Doughty had the most 1st place votes last year. I'd bet that a bunch of guys who voted for Doughty last year don't vote Karlsson this year because of where his team finished.

Karlsson or Burns. Doughty winning this year would be sad, and essentially a lifetime achievement award and not one for this season. I really love Burns, but Karlsson is the Sens. Him not winning would be a tragedy...this season he put up was bananas. I'm biased to love Tanger, but I don't think he deserves it more than those top two. I'd take his year over Doughty's though, but that's just me.
