KNBR has been talking about Bonds getting evacuated last night as well.

And Ronnie Lott was hosting a golf tourney or something with a bunch of celebs that got evacuated. Which made me wonder what kind of celeb golf tourney takes place on a Monday?

The LA Times characterized it as a blow torch with 80mph winds. Many businesses were burned to the ground:

Numerous wineries, K Mart, Trader Joes (2 of them!), McDonalds, Applebees, Arbys, a mobile home park, a senior care facility. Good God.

bonds was at mayacamas (just north of santa rosa in the hills west of 101, fantastic golf course btw) and shuttled people (multiple trips) out of the immediate area

I think I heard that these fires are the third worst in recorded California history. Absolutely awful. My wife has an aunt who lost her home in Napa. Fortunately, she and her husband also have a house in so Cal and were there at the time. But its still devastating for anyone to lose so much, especially those who have nothing now.

I co-own a house southwest of Sonoma and at this time the fire is about 4 miles to the northeast of it, in the hills. There are some hills just to the west of it but the winds usually blow to the west. Hopefully the weather changes soon.

Yes, thanks. There were some god awful stories that came from that 100 yr fire.

We also own property in Tahoe in which there was a fire about four yrs ago, that we also survived but it got MUCH closer. We've been lucky.

Glad to hear that your property was unscathed. Yeah, there have been some awful stories. It is really sad when people get affected by such loss.
