Ritz. I like my lineup a lot more then Nos’s. I do like Nos’s pitchers a lot more then mine. I do have 4 pitchers named Jim so that should count for something.

Nos in a close one. I think he has the edge here with the pitching and his pen.

I agree with his pitching absolutely but pen I feel it’s a good matchup.

You really don't think my pen is better??

I said it was close. I don’t think you have a huge advantage in the pen but I do feel you a big advantage with your rotation. I so wanted Nolan Ryan.

Nos. Two issues I have having Wilson leading off with a .324 OBP and Kingman starting at DH over Bobby Bonds and Tony Perez. Also love the toughness of Nolan and Schilling atop Nos' rotation and the bullpen.

Who would you put at leadoff? If you say Jeter remember Milkspiller isn’t voting.

Even if Nos wins the fact I got UK’s votes proves I’m a winner and I will be printing this vote off and taping it to my refrigerator, right next to Michael’s drawing of a robot or starfish I can’t fucking tell.

1. Jeter, SS
2. Boggs, 3B
3. Puckett, CF
4. Fielder, DH
5. Fisk, C
6. Perez, 1B
7. Bonds, RF
8. Schoendienst, 2B
9. Wilson, LF

Even if you don’t want jeter there, Butler would’ve been the better lead off. Man, does you team ever get on base?

Wilson, .326
Kingman, .302
Schoendiest, .337
W. Davis, .311
C. Davis, .326

I don’t mind Jeter at leadoff but have used him there before and got killed in voting when people argued Jeter should never leadoff and only #2 hitter. Jeter is the best #2 hitter of all time I feel and to get Wilson on base with his speed and then have Jeter bat after him is a advantage. Now if you wanted Butler instead of Wilson batting leadoff blame the guy who set my lineup Nos. He did that on purpose then scheduled to play me with his first round matchup. It’s a bloody conspiracy I tell you. I’m joking folks I don’t see a huge difference in Wilson or Butler. That switch shouldn’t really decide this matchup. Nos has the best rotation in this draft and if you don’t have studs batting 1-9 it will be hard to get hits off him. If I should lose I won’t be disappointed because not surprisingly Nos put together another great lineup. I am going to be disappointed when he wins then doesn’t participate in the next draft saying thanks for the vCash now I’m going home.

Anyone who knocks someone for putting Jeter at the lead off is being disingenuous, cause I’ve never seen anyone getting knocked for batting a career #3 hitter at #9. Jeter led off 981 times in his career, actually was slightly better overall as a lead off than as a #2 guy, and hit .354/.402/.515/.917 when getting the first at bat of the game. His numbers as a lead off far outstrips anything Wilson did as a lead off.

As for Wilson v. Butler, butler would at least give you a guy who gets on base. Wilson had a .331 OBP when hit #1 and .311 for the first at bat of a game. Butler was .369 & .374 respectively.

Don't get me wrong, I rode Wilson back when we voted for peak performance when I could show that his 1979-1982 were some of the top lead off seasons out there, but once we changed to overall careers, his value went way down and I haven’t drafted him since. He just does get on base enough, leaving his only value as speed which makes him more a bench player than a lead off.

I also don’t take Brock for the same reasons.

Also, Boggs was a much better #2 hitter than Jeter was, it’s not even close. Granted, Boggs was a better lead off hitter as well.
