So far his excuse has been "One of the most dominant DT's in Football". It seems like a solid one to me. If a tackles primary job was to get sacks then La'Roi Glover would have been a 1st ballot HoF.

Fletcher Cox put up those numbers last year on a shitty defense. No excuses.

Suh had good numbers last year but they were clustered in a handful of games. He was MIA in like 10 games last year.

I think tackles and sacks have less meaning for DT. I know for many years in Detroit opposing teams averaged 2 yards less per carry when Suh was on the field than off. That came without a lot of tackles as well.

He was a force for 16 games. You don't post your best pro year in only 6 games. He's not Superman.

Only 1 or 2 years. Teams were trap blocking Suh for several years and blowing up the middle for long TD runs and destroying that crap-9 defense. Until Austin came here and changed it the run D was not good.

Not even close. He did not even show up the first 2 games. He followed up with 2 good ones only to have a stinker after those. 1 more good one and 2 more stinkeroos. His first half season was not good at all. He played very well the second of half of the year, but look how playing well for just the second half of the year worked out for the Lions.

Not how I saw it at all. Hell, he won the game vs Washington, forcing KC to throw that game winning INT.

I remember when we had DTackles with expectations on Sunday's.

Now it's a Tuesday here and a Wednesday there. And hoping and praying we can talk Corey Redding out of retirement.

Only if Andre Fluellen is not around.

DTs dont win championships. Thats why you dont see SB teams spending 20 mil a year on them. Trust in Quinn (and the staff he has brought in). This is not the Millen/Mayhew Lions anymore. In a couple years the Lions will be considered the Pats of the NFC.

So we're gonna cheat and have the most overrated football player ever throwing 3 yard passes?

Being the Pats version NFC doesn't interest me.

And Quinn is no Hoody.

Actually our own Haloti Ngata was getting 20 million the last time the Ravens won a Superbowl in 2012

Anything less than 10 sacks and 70 tackles is a fail.

A defensive tackles job is to is to clog gaps and collapse the pocket if he does this well it frees up the pass rushers to get those sacks you're so fond of and forces the opposing team to run the ball outside more shrinking the field so guys like Ray Lewis and Deandre Levy can clean up. Pretty much every great defense in NFL history has had 1 or more great defensive tackles leading the charge.

Thats probably why the Ravens have been in shambles ever since. In order to do that long term, talent has to be thin most everywhere else.

Not for 20 mil a year. You dont just take up space for that kind of money.

Suh is a beast no doubt.

20 Million a year is QB money only. Only elite ones at that.

Same reason I would let Von Miller walk if I were the Broncos as well.

Everybody knows the only reason the Ravens were ever good is because of Teryl Austin.

Agreed. Only shhit teams do those kind of deals with non QBs. We may be saying goodbye to Staff soon despite that. He is talking crazy money and he isnt top tier yet.

The only time you want to do that with a non QB is with a guy like Ziggy who really has very low mileage on him for his age. or if a guy is like 25ish

No problem spending the money on Ziggy. Only been playing football for about 5-6 years so very low mileage and he is already elite at one of the hardest positions to fill in the NFL.

I'll do it for Slay too if I see another season like last. Shut down CB's are equally hard to find as well.
